  4. Hello, I have a fully working customized Armbian on OrangePi PC Plus. There are two partitions, one for the rootfs, second mounted as /home I want to convert the root partition to squashfs, and use the squashfs file to boot from. I already converted the root partition to squashfs file, I can mount squashfs file, and the contents are correct. I even tried to mount it via fstab and it works. I searched everywhere, obviosly not enough, but I cannot find a way to boot directly from the squashfs file. The idea is to have only squashfs file and rw partition for /home Please, can somebody help me, or point me to the right instructions ?
  5. After orangepiplus upgraded the kernel, the native wifi interface card disappeared. Output log of sudo armbianmonitor -u: https://paste.armbian.com/ilufiwukav Currently, after upgrading the kernel to 6.6.36-current-sunxi, the native wlan0 will disappear.
  6. Hello, Installed some updates recently on OrangePi PC Plus and after reboot I'm stuck on boot screen with message "Starting kernel...". Would this be logged somewhere? Any way to recover from this or should I start from scratch? boot error
  7. Hi I'm using an Orange Pi PC Plus with a LoRa HAT (Semtech SX1278) connected via GPIO. The tool which uses this HAT connects directly to the SX1278 chip on the HAT, no protocoll like SPI is needed. I'm using it for several years on RaspberryPi's without problems. But with the latest ARMBIAN Image for the Orange Pi PC Plus Armbian_23.11.1_Orangepipcplus_bookworm_current_6.1.63.img.xz I have issues in this constellation. The tool can not contact the SX1278 via GPIO, said the tool developer. It seems like I have to activate the GPIO pins before. I've tried to find information about that, but without success. So I hope to find here more information and help. I have to use these hardware PINs (these are the PIN descritions on teh Raspberry Pi): MOSI SPI0_MOSI / GPIO10 (PIN 19) MISO SPI0_MISO / GPIO9 (PIN 21) SCK SPI0_SCLK / GPIO11 (PIN 23) NSS/Enable SPI0_CE0_N / GPIO8 (PIN 24) RST GPIO6 (PIN 31) Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi there, Since being only a novice in linux, there are some things that are difficult to understand. Like - which configs to update or keep old versions when doing the upgrade. Last time I said N (keep original version) to everything. Really the only things I care about are vnc configs and samba setup. I basically use it as a network drive for backups. Only necessary software is x11vnc and samba. Else I log into it just for updates/restarts. I have tried upgrading my armbian several times. Unfortunately it does not work and I have to restore my sd card backup and start over. I update it making sure all apt updates are done, and then freezing the kernel and running do-release-upgrade. Here is the data when logging in via terminal for you to see the context, pre-upgrade: Here goes lsb_release and etc/armbian-release info, pre-upgrade: And finally, after I brick my board, I get this data via serial interface: Where do I start?

  11. Hello again, I was forced to reinstall OS and right now I have no sound at all. https://paste.armbian.com/omovipuyub I did try this but still no sound. cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [Codec ]: H3_Audio_Codec - H3 Audio Codec H3 Audio Codec 1 [sun9ihdmi ]: sun9i-hdmi - sun9i-hdmi sun9i-hdmi
  12. I'm trying to install the system to external usb drive on my OrangePi PC + using armbian-config tool but I get this error ### Board installation issue: File /usr/lib/nand-sata-install/exclude.txt does not exist or is not accessible! OS installed Armbian 23.8.1 with 6.1.53-current-sunxi kernel
  13. Would passive cooling be any good for OrangePi PC Plus? Or active cooling is better suited?
  14. I'm running Chromium in kiosk mode in armbian using the following command: chromium 'http://localhost/' --window-position=0,0 --start-fullscreen --kiosk --noerrdialogs --disable-translate --no-first-run --fast --fast-start --disable-infobars --disable-features=TranslateUI --disk-cache-dir=/var/www/ --disable-pinch --overscroll-history-navigation=0 --disable-features=TouchpadOverscrollHistoryNavigation --enable-logging --v=1 --window-size=1366,768 However, I'm experiencing a blank page transition issue when navigating from one page to another (for example, from page 1 to page 2). I have tried using other browsers, and the issue doesn't occur. Additionally, when I access the localhost IP from my PC, I don't encounter the blank transition problem. Check this VIDEO
  15. I switched mentioned pins to IN mode. But I need it 0 by default. All other pins which are not related to I2C/TWI I can easilly pullup/pulldown, but these not. i2c0 is disabled in armbiaEnv.txt Thank you.
  16. i have orange pi pc plus and i use a hdmi monitor with it, i use xorg to run browser kiosk there is a problem with monitor if i connect hdmi before armbian starts monitor works well and show desktop but if i start orange pi (wait few seconds) and then connect hdmi cable then the monitor shows nothing
  17. Seems like a reboot fixed the issue. the only other thing I did was to start alsamixer and made sure the line out was not muted. I setup Jammy 22.04 on an OrangePi PC + and trying to get sound to work with XFCE through the speaker jack. I get sound output through the speaker jack if I log in via the terminal and use speaker-test -t wav -c 2, but I get no sound in XFCE through the speaker jack. HDMI works. 18. I configured Armbian on a mSD card and decided to try and move it to the eMMC. I used the nand-sata-install utility, All files from the mSD card are copied, and the last step fails. I get Error: no u-boot package found, exiting Any pointers?
  19. I picked up an OrangePi PC Plus. I installed armbian Jammy which does not have the mt7921u driver. I would like to install the driver and was wondering the proper steps. I have done apt install linux-headers-current-sunxi cd /usr/src/linux-headers-5.15.93-sunxi make scripts Now is it a matter of grabbing the mn7921u source and compiling it? Thanks for any direction.
  20. Armbianmonitor: I had use armbian-config to change the dts for change pin start status. it worked. but just work when kernel load. it don't effect the uboot. did i missing some step? or it's because my uboot is too old? Thanks, mika
  21. Hello, I am trying to port my developed module to the newest Armbian system. Once I had everything worked in very old Armbian developed in 2018 based on kernel 3.4. There is a hardware module connected via i2c1. When my program tries to communicate with it, it doesn't work and I get errors kernel: i2c i2c-1: mv64xxx: I2C bus locked, block: 1, time_left: 0 I've uploaded the diagnosis information to URL: https://paste.armbian.com/aciwalafah There was a problem also in Armbian 22.11 system. I upgraded it after found information about some solution for i2c probem with similar error messages. Please advise. Thanks.
  22. Guys, how to setup HDMI display resolution please? This is strange, I waste whole day for seaching working solution
  23. Hello, Is there a guide / tutorial on making Kodi run with hardware acceleration enabled on Armbian on Orange PI PC Plus? e.g. like how LibreELEC does it. I have found a bunch of information on different sites and forums, but I can't put it all together. What I know so far: * Apparently the HW-accelerated decoding is supposed to be done on Kodi's side via VDPAU API * The Kodi build in Armbian repos does not have built-in support for libvdpau (?) * ffmpeg, the video decoding library used by Kodi, doesn't support Allwinner GPU out of the box and needs patching * Kodi needs to be re-compiled with the patched ffmpeg version
  24. Hi. I'm trying to use GPIO's of OrangePi PC+ and after install WiringOP, when I run the gpio readall, all my GPIO's Mode are showing OFF. I tryed enable in armbian-config, but I have only pps-gpio and w1-gpio, I tryed enable both but doesn't work too. Someone knows some solution? Thanks.
  25. im using orange pi with armbian and i try to rotate display by seeting in boot/armbianEvt.txt fbcon=rotate:3 it only rotate the console message. but when i run startx (startx installed via sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends xserver-xorg x11-xserver-utils xinit openbox ) is still default mode not rotated It makes me angry to know that i have achieved it without any difficulty with a RaspberryPi 3 simply by adding display_rotate = X in /boot/config.txt and that there is no way for Armbian.
