asterix Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Hi, I have an OrangePi_4b (RK3399), mounted in aluminum case, in which I am going to install armbian. I also have a mini-double fan that I want to attach to the outside of the box, to cool it. The approximate power consumption of this mini fan is 300 mA. According to the orange pi 4b manual, I find these Gpio: PIN1 VCC3V3_SYS PIN2 VCC5V0_SYS PIN4 VCC5V0_SYS The questions (to whoever can answer or has experiences) are: For those pins respectively, what is the maximum consumption per pin, measured in milliamps? Is it feasible to connect the mini-fan to Gpio (V + GND)? If possible I am thinking both 5V (pin2 and pin4) and 3.3V (pin1). Thanks
Werner Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I don't know especially for the 4B but other models usually can be powered trough GPIO pins 2 and 6 which are shorted to the other powering option like barrel plug or microUSB/USB-C. So the consumption is basically limited by the line resistance and the power supply. 1
