"For proper hardware support you need to edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt and add:

fdtfile=sun7i-a20-orangepi.dtb

following by reboot."

I am not sure if this isn't a hint from ages ago when boards used phased-out 3.14.y kernel....

Hi,

What OrangePi board do you have ?  I have an early model OrangePi A20 board and the .dtb you mention does work,  This is when using a 5.x.x kernel.  It will also run with an old 3.4 kernel but this doesn't use a .dtb and I don't think the standard boot.src will boot it anyway.

Cheers,

Steven
