Followed the instructions in the forum With the IMG file: Armbian_23.02.2_Aml-s9xx-box_bullseye_current_6.1.11.img.xz but tested several DTB files untill the file (/dtb-6.1.11-meson64/amlogic/meson-g12a-sei510.dtb) got me network up with DHCP getting an IP from my router. Run the armbian-install and all went well. but.... I bricked the box, because after shutdown, the box is not booting. Only get a black screen. Now I need any help to: 1- Flash back the linux image so I get back a working box or 2- Help me recover from this state with another armbian version. Any help is welcome. Best regards, Wilson

Wilson Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Hi @AteeMan, Thank you for your reply, and sorry for taking long on my reply (the forum did not allow me to reply on the same day). When I wrote "Run the armbian-install and all went well.", what I mean is that following the tutorial instrucions to install Armbian on mmc, I run the command "armbian-install" script under the /root directory. The turotial reffers to "install-aml.sh" but I did not found this scritp and just assumed that for this release the script changed to "armbian-install". I still have the putty screen I run the command: By order of screenshots: https://ibb.co/9rGrGGJ https://ibb.co/hDXFHzx https://ibb.co/N3vWFvw https://ibb.co/gJRVBvL https://ibb.co/6yWBQf8 https://ibb.co/s6wLS1L https://ibb.co/BnKPsV7 https://ibb.co/3SZr4s8 Hope this helps. Wilson Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Hi @SteeMan, Any thoughts on this issue that can help? Thank you. Wilson
SteeMan Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Running armbian-install will corrupt your emmc. You need to run install-aml.sh like the instructions say. I checked and that script exists in /root for the latest build. You will need to reinstall an original android firmware to get your box back to working.
Wilson Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Hi @SteeMan, Thank you for your reply. I figure that much, and already searched for reinstalling the original firmware. Found the website https://www.turewell.com/pages/tvbox-document Tryed to flash the firmware using the sd card method with no sucess. Tryed to flash the firmware using the PC method but my box does not get recognized by my PC. Even got a male to male usb cable for that porpuse and nothing. Do you have any other recomendation I can follow? Thank you so much for your time and support. Regards, Wilson
maka Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 (edited) Why don't you ask where you downloaded the image? Armbian-install is from a repository that has no relationship with official armbian. Edited March 10, 2023 by maka
SteeMan Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 @maka armbian-install is the command in a standard Armbian build (as of 22.11 and later) that installs from sd card to emmc or other storage. Since that is what the author of this post was doing there is nothing to indicate that he is using a non-armbian build. Although your point that armbian-install is used for a different purpose in non-armbian builds is a good one, based on the content of this thread it didn't seem to me there was any indication that the author was not using an armbian build, but it is a possibility.
SteeMan Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 @Wilson The only suggestions I have, are when using the amlogic usb tools, that you try all of the usb ports on your box and that you try different versions of the tool. I've had cases where only older versions worked with some of my older boxes. But it does tend to be finicky. And sometimes pushing the reset button as part of the process has helped me.
