Beagleboard or other open hardware

Does anybody here have experience with the Beagleboard ? It doesn't seem to be supported on this site. It also seems to be rather old?

But it's the only board I can find with open hardware/firmware. Any opinions, hints, ideas, other suggestions for truly open hardware?

Beagleboard?  Like, the circa-2008 TI OMAP3 600MHz Cortex-A8 Beagleboard w/ 128MB RAM?  I actually have one.  No, there's no Armbian support.

 

There's: https://eewiki.net/display/linuxonarm/BeagleBoard.  Kinda build-it-yourself, but you can have a 4.12 kernel on Ubuntu 16.04 if you want.
