That is a relatively new soc.  It may be a couple of years (if ever since mainline support for amlogic CPUs is poor and getting worse as most open source developers have gravitated to supporting rockchip socs) before you have something that will work for that soc.

This soc s905y4 is already 5 years old - it is already old. I only know one person who supports linux on amlogic.

Arbmian developers are not interested in support TV boxes, as it does not pay. No one is ready to work on enthusiasm. Therefore, do not wait for the support of these TV boxes.

If amlogic, then I advise you to take TV boxes on soc s905x3 - armbian works on them.

That is new in terms of Amlogic support in mainline kernel 🙂
