Herman Liang Posted Saturday at 05:04 PM Posted Saturday at 05:04 PM Hello, I try to use armbian image on SD card for my nanopi r6c, it is without emmc, can only boot with SD card. However, armbian can't boot correctly. It stop at pre-mount while booting up, please refer to attached screenshot. I tried the images that can download from armbian web site and build armbians image with my PC, none of them can work, all are same issue, but Dietpi image for r6c can boot successfully. Solution Igor Posted Saturday at 08:37 PM Solution Posted Saturday at 08:37 PM Images were tested. Do you perhaps use Etcher for flashing? And try minimal image. That might even work with Etcher. 0 Quote
Herman Liang Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM Thanks. Etcher worked. Now my device can boot successfully. I will use Etcher instead of USBImager for armbian in future. 0 Quote

Actually its the opposite so it must have been something else. Etcher is known to be broken for bigger images (desktops). There is some bug in the .xz decompression method used by Etcher. I am using only USB imager for at least a year and haven't run into any problems. At least not on this level. 0 Quote
