armbian-config does not update network config

Featured Replies

Hello

I was trying to move from dhcp to static IP and tried it via armbian-config. No change happened.. The interface remains with its dhcp assigned IP. When I check :

rock-5-itx:/etc:% sudo ls /etc/netplan
10-dhcp-all-interfaces.yaml armbian.yaml

ls -l /run/systemd/network
total 16
-rw-r----- 1 root systemd-network 123 Nov 3 15:58 10-netplan-all-eth-interfaces.network
-rw-r----- 1 root systemd-network 125 Nov 3 15:58 10-netplan-all-lan-interfaces.network
-rw-r----- 1 root systemd-network 125 Nov 3 15:58 10-netplan-all-wan-interfaces.network
-rw-r----- 1 root systemd-network 207 Nov 3 15:58 10-netplan-enP3p49s0.network

IIRC netplan needs its config updates in a sorting order with the "last matching rule wins". Looks like this may be the reason - above you can see my intended static IP config file 10-netplan-enP3p49s0.network

was generated for my custom settings (from armbian.yaml) with all other files also beginning with 10-netplan-*

in /run/systemd/network.

I am guessing that due to a lack of explicit sort ordering the config update probably stopped with the catch-all group definition configs 10-netplan-all-[eth|lan]* ... ??

Not sure (guessing here) whether using a naming convention like 90-netplan-* or similar in /etc/netplan will result in the proper application of the manual configuration change ...?

PS: Changing armbian.yaml to 20-armbian.yaml and running netplan generate/apply did not fix. So it looks like the 10-netplan-all-* generic file is winning over the 10-netplan-enP3p49s0.network
