andry Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 i have an orange pi 2 board, but the questions could be applied to any, i think so questions: 1. (the most interesting for me now) is it possible to change screen resolution of the screen without changing\replacing script.bin and rebooting? could we just avoid rebooting and somehow force linux to change resolution? 2. is it possible to boot from network for any of the boards and orange pi in particular? 3. to power up the boards could we use lipo accums like 18650 with step-up voltage converter? (i had a bad expierence in finding working image to my orange pi and it occurs that it was because of too long cable to the board, so it very sensitive to stable current i think)
Igor Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 1. At this point probably not. 2. The same. There is not network access within u-boot yet but it will be. So in future yes. 3. Battery section is currently unknown to me. On A20 you simply attached it where connector existed or soldered a battery to the board and voila.
zador.blood.stained Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 2. "Partial" network boot (small SD with kernel and few other files + root on NFS) should be possible, but it was added recently and wasn't properly tested yet. Plus there is no manual/tutorial for setting things up (yet).
