ebuxbaum Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Hi, after I made a software-update for my Cubitruck last week, my VGA monitor shows text only up to "starting kernel", then turns black. HDMI still works. I tried to reinstall the newest versions of both Ubuntu Bionic and Debian Stretch, both show this problem. The old VGA monitor is used only for maintenance work on my home server and off most of the time, it would be a shame if I had to buy a new HDMI monitor for this purpose. What is going on? Thanks Engelbert

Perhaps there is a regression in a recent u-boot/kernel regarding VGA connector? Try going back with the kernel and u-boot, but that is just a temporally workaround since next upgrade will change them back to what you have now unless you freeze packages and prevent their upgrade. Which is again just a workaround. It's just a bug which someone has to resolve.
