    M4 V2

Hi Nico, I've burnt the image directly to eMMC using Win32 disk imager ( which is what I always do with the original M4's and they just boot ) but on the v2 I can only access the eMMC card via USB - putting it in the slot doesn't make it accessible - I suspected a problem with the EMMC card itself but I've tried with 3 now and same result - if I dd the patch via USB wouldn't that wipe the card ?

    M4 V2

As the other thread is getting a bit cluttered I thought I'd start a new one. Thanks to the good work of @pask and others we now have a working image for the M4 v2. However, despite following instructions to the letter. I can't get the board to boot from the eMMC card, in fact I don't think the board even recognizes the card ( I've tried different ones ) Also not being able to connect via a serial cable is hampering my attempts at debugging the boot process. Cany anyone put up a Muppets guide on the steps required to achieve this ?
  5. I will have to do it via USB as the board can't see the the eMMC - fdisk -l doesn't list it
  6. Hi all, any recommendations for a ~ 5" monitor for the M4 ?
  7. I'm using Putty on a Win 10 box which works perfectly on my original M4's
  8. Hi Nico, my board (v2) boots this image fine from the SD card but not from eMMC - also I can't connect via UART ( just see rubbish on screen ) so have no idea why
  9. Success I have WiFi thank you, I can't boot from the eMMc though despite running nand-sata-install - I get confirmation that the bootloader has been updated but it won't boot
  10. No mods needed to any config files ? What's the location of the files ?
  11. Well done - I'll have to read the whole thread again to see how you did it
  12. Are you saying you have WiFi working now ?
  13. Hi all, I thought I'd try an Edimax USB Wifi adapter I had hanging around and bingo it worked the command I used to configure it nmcli dev wifi connect YourSSDHhere password YourPassword
  14. Hi Pask, how did you discover what wifi chip is used ? and how do you install firmware-brcm80211 ? sorry for all the questions I'm really keen to understand how these boards work
  15. I have some success - I flashed to the sdcard as you suggested - removed the eMMC card - and it booted - I then added fdtfile=rockchip/rk3399-nanopi-m4.dtb to to the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file and rebooted - voila we have the heartbeat green light. Thanks for all your help all I need now is wi-fi which I assume is going to be difficult ?
  16. I flashed the image to the eMMC card - I don't use the sdcard - I do have a USB-TTL dongle but I don't see any output
  17. Hi martinayotte, I've just tried it with both Buster and Ubuntu without any luck - no flashing green light :-(

    M4 v2 image

Hi guys, can anyone give me a link as to where I can download a working image for the new Nanopim4 v2 - the friendly arm download section is very confusing - it states there is an eMMC image but when I downloaded it it didn't contain a *.img file that I could flash but a lot of other *.gz *.img files e.g. boot.img etc etc
  22. Hi Nico, I fitted the NVME hat to my original M4 today and used armbian-config to install to NVME and all is working fine
  23. Hi all, I have motion installed and a FriendlyElec camera connected to my board, my problem is, the camera is not detected by motion - what do I need to do to configure the camera / motion ?
  24. Hi all, I'm using an online article to help get me started with DotNet core this one Article All works fine when I use a Raspberry Pi as my target host but on my Nanopi the executable file created by dotnet publish -t linux-arm is not found, in the article the author creates a console app from a Windows command line and then publishes it. He then copies all the files from the Windows *publish* folder to a Pi and the executable created by Windows runs on the Pi. If I do the same on my Nanopi I get a file not found error - racking my brains with this one as the file is definitely there. I can create apps directly on the Nano cli but it would be nice to create and test them using Visual Studio and run them on the Nano, The Nano had dotnet core 3 preview installed, any ideas guys ?
