  1. no but ilmich would post close ones , so i thing there will be open ones , but simple first if you havent problem with legacy armbian please dont do step 10 infront of step 1 bullseye debian 11 jammy ubuntu 22.04 yes you can nand first , yes correct sd card direct without install when bootloader 1 else you maybe need "jump start" from multitool bad news : I have tried to run the box with sdcard inside with multitool, but nothing happen (the tv goes to energy save). Removing the sd card android tried to boot, but it's stop to recovery mode If I choose "Reboot to bootloader" device stop and nothing more happen (same result as with sd card inserted), if I choose "View recovery logs" the following info appear (I have only made photo of last 3 pages and I have open kmsg file because .log files was empty). Here the screenshot What should I do?
  2. ok ok, the 2 bootloader here https://github.com/ilmich/rkflashtool/tree/master/bin do You know of what type are? referred to legacy armbian, what is difference between bullseye and jammy? Both kernel are current and both are 5.15.80. I think it's bettere install legacy armbian to nand, and only after this flash armbian newest to sd (I think it's possible boot system directly from sd without install , true?)
  3. so, it's impossible update bootloader? I want install the most recent image of armbian with gui (so I don't want android) and in first post is written that it's necessary update bootloader "For fearless and bold people who are having issues when (re)booting images, there is the chance to upgrade the bootloader on NAND". So I prefer update bootloader and after that install the most recent image. For the bootloader I should use one of the 2 files here https://github.com/ilmich/rkflashtool/tree/master/bin but now reading the steps on the first post I have discovered that only legacy armbian image can be used. Now, the new question is: what is the difference between bullseye and jammy? Jammy isn't available with gui? I'm not very expert about linux and flashing, I know only that bootloader is such a bios ... ok, where I can find this file (and how to reach destination if android no more boot)? What is the path? When I install the armbian image to make restore I have just copy and paste the files?
  4. What do You mean for "i dont understand why only kernel that make no sense" ? here https://imola.armbian.com/dl/rk322x-box/archive/ there are only current version, so where are the legacy images? actually the box don't boot to stock android and I'm searching what image load you mean load android image? what are dts/dtb ?
  5. @RaptorSDS can You help me?
  6. so I should just insert microsd with multitool and I can start procedure of @jock ? What bootloader file should I load? in the first post, at section "Quick installation instructions on NAND" at point 2 is written "Burn the Multitool on an SD card; once done, place the Armbian legacy kernel image in images folder of the SD card FAT partition"... it's possible use only legacy kernel? ok, I'll try bookworm
  7. how can I make this? In putty the last lines automatically appear, it's not SSH. What should I do ? Can You tell me from the log posted what bootloader file flash? I'm a java developer, sadly not always it's possible found a complete course from A to Z (for example, in linux, a course that cover vmlinuz, disk partition, boot (bios and uefi), virtual machine, dsa network config, ecc ecc) ... so I have fragmentated concepts ... to this add that I'm not a system administrator so it's easy forgotten also the basis. In electronic instead I don't know nothing (this is related to the UART problem). what do You recommend me? and what about <<standard (without nothing added)>>, xfce, minimal and wm ?
  8. ok, I want install armbian but also multiboot doesn't worked very well... what step I should do? I think that is unuseful make a backup of a Android system damaged, so how I can make the bootloader upgrade described here https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12656-csc-armbian-for-rk322x-tv-boxes/?do=findComment&comment=121103 ? 2. For the bootloader file, I have a file named rk322x_loader_v1.10.256.bin but I don't remember where I have download it, can You tell me if I should download the updated file from here https://github.com/ilmich/rkflashtool/tree/master/bin ? and what file ? ? 3. After this, in first post isn't explained difference between images here https://imola.armbian.com/dl/rk322x-box/archive/ , so what is the difference between bookworm and jammy? and what are the differences between <<standard (without nothing added)>>, xfce, minimal and wm? It's explained only current, edge and legacy
  9. device no more boot and load into recovery mode
  10. done... what can You tell me about the issue?
  11. hi, sorry for the late, I have finally linked ch341 programmer to uart ... here is the log where is the problem?
  12. thank You for the answer .. change something from linux-u-boot-helios64-current 23.02.0-trunk to linux-u-boot-helios64-edge 23.02.0-trunk ? I don't know use docker, can You compile u-boot only? Can I use U-boot 23.02.0 both with kernel 5.19.53 that 6.2.0?
  13. somebody can help me? Moreover I have tried to search linux-u-boot-helios64-edge 23.02.0-trunk on web but I can't find it... where prahal have found it?
  14. little offtopic: somebody can tell me how update uboot? from here in zsh console the command "dmesg | "mmc.*: SDHCI controller on fe330000.mmc \[fe330000.mmc\] using ADMA"" doesn't work and command "dpkg -l "linux-u-boot-helios64*"" give me the following output Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Architecture Description +++-=============================-============-============-================================= ii linux-u-boot-helios64-current 21.08.9 arm64 Uboot loader 2021.07 So I have the following questions: 1. What is the equvalent zsh shell command of "dmesg | "mmc.*: SDHCI controller on fe330000.mmc \[fe330000.mmc\] using ADMA"" bourne shell command? 2. linux-u-boot-helios64-edge 23.02.0-trunk arm64 Uboot loader 2022.07 (used by prahal in the linked topic) is stable? 3. Should be used only with armbian edge or can be used also with bullseye? 4. Can be used with linux kernel 5.15.93? Some month ago I have installed from open media vault wireguard plugin, but I don't know why the installation break after update to linux kernel 6 and I must reinstall all from begin . I have make a backup of microsd image a week ago, but I don't want repeat the fail 5. In omv dashboard, in section update, isn't showed Armbian 23.02 ... how can I update it? it's possible add an option to keep stored on sd kernel 5.15.93 in case of issues? And if some issues occurs, what command should send from ssh?
  15. @praha hi, sorry for the long time, but I have got many problem. Can You tell me how switch from Zsh shell to Bourne shell and viceversa ? I have tried to follow dmesg | "mmc.*: SDHCI controller on fe330000.mmc \[fe330000.mmc\] using ADMA" and dpkg -l "linux-u-boot-helios64*" some times ago but result isn't so clear, moreover I remember linux u-boot was of about 2021. I have hear it on power off only... in the last time, before add odroid script, I have no more hear it but however, for security, I have added the script. Hope that the absence of hdd noise isn't caused but a fault or incoming fault of the drive. I don't think that issue is related to parking head timer because even before of dsable idle timer I have heard that scare sound Yes, can be that the reason: it's possible keep poweron mechanical motor and turnoff and turnon electronic board as well as it's possible poweroff mechanical motor and keep turnon electronic board (this last case happen when put a pc in standby mode).... are You sure that kernel keep the power before reboot and helios64 U-Boot before turning off and after turning on hdd? I think that if Retract Count is increased than the head has been parked. I haven't understood this phrase. ok, but it's always better that turnoff helios64 without script. For rail do You mean a drive unit ? ( so we have a max of 5 drive unit) in reboot case ... right? I'm not sure of this, because I hear a scared noise ... I think that the noise was caused by a turnoff without parking of the head, because with all the other hdd and system I have never hear that sound yes no, wdidle tweak disable head parking timer ... in wd red series after 5 minutes of drive wasn't been used the head parking automatically. Tweak disable only head parking timer. wdidle tweak work on hdd firmware, if the kernel want park the head it can make without problem (rather, I force with script the head parking). I think that script is executed on the kernel before poweroff. why feature request? the kernel can work as it want, simply it must parking heads before turnoff This is related on how kernel work... if I disable timer and before turnoff parking the head, all should work fine p.s: do You have u-boot helios64 source code?
  16. thank You for answer, as soon as I post serial log, the USB otg link male to male cable isn't necessary to get serial log, but it's necessary when I'll must update bootloader before to install armimage from sd
  17. Hi, I don't know if Android still boot (last time it was in recovery mode). However, the logs showed on terminal app are the same of logs asked by @jock? @RaptorSDS the difference between stock boot loader speed and new bootloader speed is written here and not in first post is correct txt, rx and gnd UART and usb otg port highlighted in the image?
  18. @RaptorSDS I should capture the serial output and write here to @jock because I must load multitool to check if I have only nand or nand + eMMC. so I have found that it's necessary usb-ttl adapter...and I have discover that ch341a that I already have can do it... if You tell "you dont need connect UART back to box or male male cable for normal Logs" how can I get serial outputs logs?
  19. I'm asking if it's right how I have trying to link UART to usb and how set putty parameters to see the output. In first post (inside section what works) is written "Serial UART (configured at 115200 bps, not 1.5Mbps!)", you in an older post have written the same thing, now You tell me that 115200 is wrong... What is the right value?
  20. @fabiobassa this is your post .... you have written 115200 bps, not 1.5Mbps I have read the first post, moreover You have told that I have only Nand (without eMMC), so I must follow procedure NAND and installation from SD. Before this, I should also update bootloader as described here
  21. @fabiobassa I have searched for photo and I have found that model is R329Q_V3.1. Do you confirn that UART consist in only 3 cable link: 1. TXD (on CH341A board) - RX (on R329Q board) 2. RXD (on CH341A board) - TX (on R329Q board) 3. GND (the pin on CH341A board below RXD) - GND (on R329Q board) ? in red circle there are link to UART, right? ... for the install of image the usb port to link to linux pc is the green circle port? In putty window, when I choose "Serial" on connection type, in "Serial line" label it's showed "COM1" as default ...Leave it and set only Speed to "115200" ? To use multiboot only (to search what error there's) it's necessary also link usb cable male - male?
  22. I do not more tried because I don't know if device that I already have is useful to connect to UART. Moreover, even if somebody confirm that is useful, I don't know how connect UART on the 329q -1 board to that interface (it's better post a photo because with electronic I'm noob). However I'm not interested to use Android TV 7 current firmware ... because when I want use acestream I cannnot use my smartphone as bluetooth keyboard to insert link. Hope that somebody answer me
  23. how do You have discovered that is a 329q1? how do You have discovered that is nand and not emmc? what do You tell about item linked? it's useful or I shoult buy another uart? and the dupont link?
  24. my apologies, I'm newbie with hardware... I have this device https://it.aliexpress.com/item/32962644145.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.15.7fdb3696WhwPEr&gatewayAdapt=glo2ita it's useful to reach the goal? if not can you post the device to buy? If yes, can you post photo of how link cable dupont from board to that device? I ask just of little patience
