Hardware video acceleration with recent armbian/mainline kernel (Kodi)
chaitan3 replied to XXXBold's topic in Orange Pi 5
I'm using Ubuntu 24.04 noble armbian distribution, the branch I used for ffmpeg is https://code.ffmpeg.org/Kwiboo/FFmpeg/src/branch/v4l2request-v3 The ffmpeg included in the distribution does not matter, but regardless it is version 6.1.1. The mpv is built against the locally compiled ffmpeg with libplacebo from https://code.videolan.org/videolan/libplacebo.git -
Hardware video acceleration with recent armbian/mainline kernel (Kodi)

I have tested the following PR: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/14690 It needs compilation of a custom ffmpeg (linked in PR) + mpv (with this PR). My findings are reported here: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/14690#issuecomment-4159253319 Overall it is working, haven't tested Kodi yet. -
@Efe Çetin I am using Orange Pi 5b, and I am not able to use the USB Type-C port or the USB 2.0 on Armbian edge kernel 6.19. The 2 USB 3.0 ports do work properly. Below is the relevant usb related output from dmesg. Any idea on if this is an issue specific to Orangepi 5b? From the dtsi it seems 5 and 5b largely share the common code related to type-c. I am looking forward to being able to use my Type-C hub on this board and in the future have display out. Gaming experience with Orange Pi 5 (RK3588) on Armbian
chaitan3 replied to KhanhDTP's topic in Orange Pi 5
@KhanhDTPHow to choose which dxvk version to use for which game from your dxvk stripped github actions? Are there a set of versions that are known to be more stable? Also, what is the GPU clock bug, I am on kernel 6.19 using mesa 26.1-git. -
Is HEVC 10-bit supported by the rkvdec2 mainline driver with the V4L2 request driver? I have compiled the ffmpeg and mpv with v4l2 PRs on Ubuntu 24.04 noble with Armbian 26.2.1 edge kernel 6.19. I have H264, HEVC 8-bit and AV1 working. Only HEVC 10-bit and VP9 (which is coming soon) are not working with patched mpv using vo=gpu-next and hwdec=v4l2request-copy.

Hi, just want to follow up that I'm seeing the same issues as @WimRoose above. On latest mainline 6.13 or 6.14, there is no output about the wifi module in lspci. Consequently, there is no wifi device. This followiing pull request supposedly added support last year, but it does not seem to be working. https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/6486 @BatVankoare you able to bring up wifi on the mainline edge kernel on Orangepi 5B?

Please ignore. Seems to be working now, was missing the following flags: --use-gl=egl --ignore-gpu-blacklist --enable-gpu-rasterization --enable-zero-copy

Hi, I'm seeing the following error in Chromium when trying to play youtube, the video loading screen never opens the video. I have installed chromium-browser (+libv4l-rkmpp, +ffmpeg, +rockchip-multimedia-config) from the ppa: https://launchpad.net/~liujianfeng1994/+archive/ubuntu/rockchip-multimedia My OS version is Armbian 23.08 Jammy. When using FFplay the rkmpp hardware decoder is able to correctly decode h264 and hevc content, so there does not seem to be a problem with rkmpp. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I found another guy who had the same issue, but there was no resolution: https://github.com/armbian/build/issues/5384 Failed to query video capabilities: Inappropriate ioctl for device Failed to query video capabilities: Inappropriate ioctl for device Failed to query video capabilities: Inappropriate ioctl for device Failed to query video capabilities: Inappropriate ioctl for device [7199:7199:0929/200251.817665:ERROR:gl_display.cc(520)] EGL Driver message (Error) eglCreateImageKHR: EGL_KHR_image not supported.
