    Hi,

I need some help by choosing the right dtb file. I bought a "MAGICSEE N4 TV Box" and I installed armbian on the micro sd card. I try to boot with it, but the system isn't starting. I can see the boot process, but I never come to the point, where I can write the Username + Password. I think its a problem with the dtb file. There are a lot of files, but I don't find the right one. Do you have any ideas?

    Regards

Do you know anything else about this box? What cpu does it have? Do you know what board model it uses?

On 150balbes 4.18.0-rc5 Ubuntu images, for those with T95 (p200) AML tvbox using meson-gxbb-p201.dtb / 200 device tree file, there is a problem with wifi caused by an error with nvram firmware files.
Problems manifests as wlan0 present but can't see any AP's.
    To fix, use

    mv /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt.old
    ln -s  /lib/firmware/brcm/nvram_ap6330.txt  /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt

in a shell on the target as root. Not sure where this Ubuntu  distribution fault has crept in.
nvram_ap6330.txt is actually the same file as android system:/etc/wifi/40183/nvram.txt and although not perfect, works better!

But RC5 is obselete now, is this fixed in the final version?

Interesting, what device are you doing in the tests? Do you have the same SoC s905W? And what versions of ARMBIAN 5.55 have you tried?

I'm using a Beelink mini MX-III, a mini M8S and a MXQPro+, the first two are 905 while the last is 905w. I have tried both xenial, bionic and debian stretch, the debian is the one that seems to work best.

I do not know what happens to my Mecool M8S Pro W and M8S Plus W devices.

I tried Armbian_5.44_S9xxx_Debian_stretch_3.14.29_xfce_20180729.img on a SanDisk MicroSD 16GB class 10. The initial promt of installation and was started normally (despite the password error, it was necessary to change) but unfortunately the system was not initialized.

During execution I get a list of executions with "OK" and some with "FAILED" between them "Failed_to_start _Load_Kernel" or something like that. I probably have a problem with the kernel. But unfortunately I can not capture the log to post here.

At some point I was generating an HDMI error, so I changed the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1080x720 in the HDMI.sh file as indicated at the beginning of this topic and apparently it was resolved, even then the system is still not able to boot.

Please someone teach me how to view the complete log so I can share it here and anyone who has ever succeeded in a MecoSM M8S Plus W or M8S Pro W device, tell me which distro, dtb, and kernel you used to get a perfect startup.

I also get the "Failed to start load kernel modules" and "failed to initialize zram..." on every image I try, but the 5.55 images run pretty well except for wifi which is a bit fluffy and BT support is absent. There is no video acceleration either....

Many TV boxes on the Board have contacts for UART connection to which you can solder the wires to connect the USB-UART Converter.. You need to look at the surface of the Board or search the Internet ready description.

Will do :) Is there a good windows program to capture the output that I can download and use? I will connest toe UART outut to a RS232 -> USB converter onnected to a PC...

If you have a connection UART, remove the startup log of the standard Android or Armbian firmware with kernel 3.14 (until the user prompt appears).

There is no external connection point, but I remember reading that you can solder on a cable on the board if you remove the lid from the box. Do you know anything about that?  If not I have to investigate further, but I know it is possible at least with the Mini M8S.

Good news. I am finishing testing the Armbian installation with 4.18 kernel in eMMC on the models I have in stock (Khades VIM1 VIM2 , X96 mini etc). To complete the full cycle of tests and release images, I'm looking for volunteers to test the installation scripts on different hardware.

A prerequisite for the test, the presence of a connected console UART, send me the startup log and perform preparatory operations for the test.

I have MXQ Pro+ 4k (905W), Mini M8S and Mini MX-III boxes if it is possible to connect UART cable to these boxes I'd be happy to help you test :)

BTW: Is it a bit ironic that the only box officially supported, Beelink X2, there is NO development going on.....

If someone managed to get WiFi working on MXQ Pro 4k 1/8 (S905w) - please, share your experience.

p.s. I've tried Armbian_5.44_S9xxx_Debian_stretch_3.14.29_xfce_20180721 - successfull booting, but no WiFi.

It seems this box can have either AP6181 wifi chip or Realtec chip (in which case the 7123 driver should work. You can tyr google for a linux driver for these chipa and try both and see if any of them works.

which version for S905 is with Kodi?

You can install the full KODI on any of the Armbian releases, just select the version which works best on your box (wifi working, sound working etc). The embedded kodi on some of the images is a stripped version (as far as I understand) so you'r probably better off installing the full version.

I reboot the box in recovery but she don't boot on Linux.

I select update from ext and I see aml-autoscript.zip but doesn't work and i've got error E:cannot load volum /misc

    Tanks

Have you run both aml_update and aml_autoscript?

    Hello,
I have K2Pro s905 would like to install on nand.
    can i install
    -other languages
    -usb G4 / LTE dongle
    -use as a wifi router

    which version is best?

    Thank you

If you can see the partitions on the nand with GParted (under Linux) you should have a fair chance to install on nand. If not you will only accomplish to ruin your Andriod system like on most 905 boxes where it does not work.
