  1. @BuiHuy disable gpu acceleration in chrome settings. an 480p in browser max(in some case 720p)
  2. just backup you config /home/username... It's pointless backup .deb packages.
  3. Wait... when mainline kernel will be support you soc. Or commit patches to meson project)
  4. Yep... but usb burning tools only for original amlogic firmware. For a start, I would try to install the original image through it. It would be great to connect usb-to-ttl and see the output. And more info what exact image do you write .
  5. And, why you try burning tools instead of ddbr?
  6. It's incorrect question. You can't convert DT. You must rewrite it, read what is it, and how hw describe in device tree.
  7. Huge problem - mali blob... if you find blob, and use v4l2... It can work as proof of concept, but as i write not for daily use... link - as an example.
  8. No. On mainline kernel on the arm boards without a separate pmu is just a reboot and no shutdown. wayland(weston) + mali and v4l2... But it's still bad for "daily uses". For more info, use google translate http://ua3nbw.ru/all/kodi-18-mainline-linux-allwinner-h3/ Hi, @balbes150. Could you post the kernel header for major releases (switch to a new branch)? Raising a virtual machine to compile one wi-fi module is unproductive. Thank.
  9. try icewm or, simple use openbox, and if you need panel some tiny panel... For me all old image(3.14) with openbox, removed pulseaudio and mali(less thant 100mb ram usage after start) - stable and have greate perfomance in all "desktop" scenarios. In you case, with 1gb i strongly recomend use armhf browser instead of arm64 if you need havy browser like chromium or firefox. And very important - disable all kind of hw acceleration in browser setting...
  10. It maybe code for some s905x fork, like s905m, s905d or other.. I checked myself... but i can't find any mention about this code for board on amlogic soc. But in libreelec topic some people say, thath use device tree from p212 and it work fine.
  11. Yo find p241 or p242? p242 doesn't exist, but 241 it't reference board for new s805x soc, not s905x
  12. 1. Why you don't read first message in this topic? About nand and backup with ddbr. 2. Use correct dtb. upd 3. Wrong topic you kernel 4.19 and this topic fo 3.14
  13. Worth adding a warning. For everyone who wants to use it. Using a swap on a microsd will significantly increase its wear, and may reduced life of you card.
  14. use old image with kernel 3.14(and try other dtb files if you don't have sound output).... or rework audio subsystem for mainline and commit to mainline)
  15. hardkernel take blob's from mali compiled for specific kernel. For "videos from browser" it's not mali gpu part.
  16. in my test, some light web page take a more that 500mb ram usage on arm64 broowser And chromium by default in armbian use psd and cache in tmpfs(but not sure server images have config for chromium or not), so easy can use more that 800mb for "only one tab". And yo don't have 800... xfce4 - 150+reserv from gpu 200?+tmpfs...
  17. If you use browser, under x11... No matter install it from repo in server image or use desktop version image... It's hard for 1gb ram(in real use even less - some for gpu reserv, some for tmpfs). Partial solution use armhf browser instead arm64, it's utilize less ram in some case arm64 use more than x2. Also disable and don't load pulse, install light wm instead xfce etc.
  18. It's bad idea use swap on microsd, bad for sd card) youtube now work with standart armbian image, it use psd and store cache and profile in tmpfs... If you disable in chromium settings all kind hw acceleration it can smoooth play 720p in youtube with software decoding...
  19. http://linux-meson.com/doku.php Audio subsystem in wip(in stable 4.18 didn't work with default cvbs output, so problem on kernel level). But usb sound work.
  20. If you don't create ddbr backup early best option for unbrick - use original firmware and instruments... Depending on the level of bricking (u-boot is healthy, completely overwritten or damaged) the recovery methods will be different. And you can use search in this forum. Most questions already have answers. In you case(if you can't load from sd or usb, looks like you damaged u-boot) so standard method load armbian from sd and use ddbr you can't use.
  21. Nexbox a95x(soc amlogic s905 ram 1 storage 8) All image with kernel 3.14 work with generic gxbb_p200.dtb(old u-boot). Don't have now this box, so don't have opportunity check mainline. It have some exotic wi-fi module without open sources drivers, so no wi-fi. Sunvell T95X(soc amlogic s905x ram 2 storage 8). All image with kernel 3.14 and mainline. With stock firmware don't need manipulate with .dtb files(3.14 kernel), for mainline need generic p212 dtb. Wi-fi sci9082c, didn't test.
  22. looks like now it can't work via drm so no hw decoding under x11(i could not make it work)... translate frames to kms looks work fine, but it not that thing what people want from "hw decoding".
  23. github commits history for armbin and basbes150 fork... if you need "complete changelog"
