You are not using Armbian. Ask where you got the OS from you are actually using.
-
Maybe. The next step would be to bump to rkr7.1 which is 5.10.198 I think and then sometimes after 6.1 might be an option.

Enable OC overlay via armbian-config

he armbian image that orange pi suggests
Armbian does not support this board. The images you may have found in the web are not ours. Complain where you got them from.
Our own Zero3 support is WIP: https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/config/boards/orangepizero3.wip

Providing logs with
armbianmonitor -u
helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed.

- as for 23.8.1 - it is not supported anymore? Tell me which last bullseye minimal is current, please.
We can only afford to support the most recent version which is 23.11. Check https://www.armbian.com/rockpi4/
If there is none with Bullseye (old-stable btw.) userspace you can build your own image: https://github.com/armbian/build/

OMV heavily messes with the system and is known to cause all sorts of trouble.

Proper debugging.

Have you installed armbian-firmware-full via apt?
-
Overlay might not even be necessary. Try installing armbian-firmware-full via apt.

Here's some info about overlays: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Allwinner_overlays/

As Efe stated. You are using the wrong images. Oranhe Pi 5 != Orange Pi 5 Plus

Ethernet works, USB3 works, HDMI works. Did not bother test further

Hm dtbo might be missing. Try rk3588-wifi-ap6275p.dts or rk3588-wifi-pcie.dts from here:

What am I missing?
That rk3588 support is bleeding edge and not even close to all functions work properly yet. If you need a stable system use legacy.
-
Hm interesting...
Try adding this as overlay:
/dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { fragment@0 { target = <&hdmirx_ctrler>; __overlay__ { status = "okay"; }; }; };
-
I assume you are using a mainline image with kernel 6.7. Those do not come with overlays yet. Use an image that comes with 5.10.y kernel: https://redirect.armbian.com/orangepi5-plus/archive/

Use legacy kernel instead of mainline

What does dmesg show when connecting the device on both the rpi and the zero?
