Ok lets see what 5.6-rc5 does

20200306 img fonts look thinner and colors are too saturated. Anyone have a clue?

Hello everyone, I ’m from China. My English is not very good, so I ’m using Google Translate now. How do I determine DTB for my rk3399 box? My box is csa96. Which god can help me, thank you !! Thank you.
You need to try out all the rk3399-*.dtb in /boot/dtb/rockchip. Good luck

Yesterday I ordered a X88 King for a good friend of mine who lives next door. He will just use kodi and very light gaming in Android, and he wanted a very fast box with good internal memory, and gigabit network, so he chose it amongst the rest of S922X devices we saw. No brainer, 80€ for this beast with 4Gb LPDDR4 and 128 Emmc is amazing.
I will be able to do armbian testing with it, I guess usb and Ethernet will get supported soon, I don't care much about wifi and BT atm. I have started to read some device trees tutorials to see if I can help with it.
If you have received the X88 King did you do any testing yet?

I have been using the Magicsee N6 Max as a desktop for some time now.
Bionic desktop from https://yadi.sk/d/_rQgn_FosYuW0g/20.05/20200212 works pretty good, except for wifi. Just make sure you have enough cooling.

Without a suitable dtb, android might just be the only os able to run on this box
-
I would be interested in a how-to guide on the topic of making an Armbian dtb based on the information out of an Android dtb. Got a X88 King box that boots to desktop but usb does not work in Armbian while usb is fine in Android

What do you guys think?
Haven't seen a proper review so far for the Orange Pi 4.
Another alternative would be the HardROCK64

Just got thru a bunch of mesa updates, the clicks and pops are back

Got chromium to software render by using switch --use-gl=osmesa. Video now smooth, clicks and pops no more

That's weird, because I did the same test yesterday evening, and I have lots of crashes and validation failures. Same 5.5.0-rc6, mesa out of git master. What hardware are you running on? I'm on an Orange Pi 3 (H6, T720MP2).
Also, did you remove the blacklisting of chrome/chromium in the panfrost mesa driver? Chrome shouldn't see panfrost.
Can you share your X11 config related to panfrost, if any? I may be missing something...
I have Magicsee N6 Max rk3399. My config is stock Armbian_20.02.0-rc1.030_Arm-64_bionic_current_5.5.0-rc6_desktop_20200129 with a tweaked rk3399-rock-pi-4.dtb, with only change in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/01-armbian-defaults.conf Option "AccelMethod" "none" to "glamor"
Did not touch chromium settings. Where is chromium blacklisted in the mesa driver?

Video decoding uses a different part of the chip which is not related to panfrost (and much less to Mesa), does it? Also Chromium is blacklisted by Mesa for 3D (or at least it was a few ago when I checked).
That may be true, I'm only reporting my experience with it. The clicks could be some hardware interference?

Armbian_19.11.4_Arm-64_bionic_dev_5.5.0-rc2_desktop_20191228 with rk3399-rock-pi-4.dtb tweaked to cpuspeed 1.70 & 2.01 GHz
Boots to desktop , usable with some artifacts - will test again upon kernel update
Thanks balbes & NicoD
libgl1-mesa-dri 19.2.1-1ubuntu1~18.04.1 enables panfrost
Still clunky with some artifacts but could only get better with further updates

The latest libgl1-mesa-dri upgrade brought with it panfrost to the desktop

I'm tired of telling you that USB support will never come out of thin air. Until someone makes the correct dtb, nothing will change.
ok, got it. I'll just test quietly then
