  1. Hello dear friends, please help can not solve a problem, the entire forum has clambered! as I can not turn on your WiFi Orange Pi Pc + ....
  2. On Orange Pi PC +, usbmount is installed but USB memory is not recognized. How can I determine if it is a device issue or a software configuration problem? (Version 5.23)
  3. Hi Guys, I installed armbian on an SD Card and the installed it to the eMMC. Which all worked fine. After a bit of tinkering, it would no longer boot (no ssh access) and when I insert the original sd card now it wont boot from that either. I think I read that the it won't boot from the sd card if there is a valid boot record on the eMMC, so what can I do now? Thanks
  4. I've tried to connect 5" TFT monitor to OPI with no luck. Cable pinout : T (Left audio) R (right audio) R (video) S (Ground) boot image: Armbian_5.20 scripr.bin section [boot_disp] advert_disp = 0 auto_hpd = 1 output_type = 4 hdmi_channel = 0 hdmi_mode = 4 cvbs_channel = 1 cvbs_mode = 11 output_full = 1 hdmi_mode_check = 1 [disp_init] disp_init_enable = 1 disp_mode = 0 screen0_output_type = 2 screen0_output_mode = 14 screen1_output_type = 2 screen1_output_mode = 14 fb0_format = 0 fb0_width = 0 fb0_height = 0 fb1_format = 0 fb1_width = 0 fb1_height = 0 [hdmi_para] hdmi_used = 1 hdmi_power = "vcc-hdmi-18" [tv_para] tv_used = 0 tv_dac_used = 1 tv_dac_src0 = 0 and i also tried screen0_output_type = 2 screen0_output_mode = 11
  5. Hi, I seem to be unable to create a working image for my Orange Pi PC+ with a 4.x kernel (I want to use Docker). I had a working 4.7.3 install but a recent (this week) apt-get upgrade installed a 4.8.x kernel (and probably a u-boot) after which my Opi PC+ will not boot anymore (my home-router shows the opi for a short time but it disappears before I can do a ssh to the Opi PC+). None of the images I have or create with a 4.x kernel seem to want to work. Only the 3.4.112 images that I download will work. Since I fried my uart0 and I haven't been able to use uart1 I have not been able to debug this. So I was hoping someone has a working image with a 4.x kernel (preferably debian-jessie server) for a Opi PC+ that they would be willing to share.
  6. hello everybody, I going to compile kernel + complete image with the armbian building script. At this moment, the 25 october 2016 ... What distribution is the better choice if I want to use mali desktop lighttpd mysql ? Debian Jessie or Ubuntu Trusty ? What the "real" difference, what distribution have more capability on the orange pi pc plus. Thx you
  7. Hi, Just received a OPiPCplus and first things first ..loading it with Armbian. Is there a guide on how to flash Armbian image to OPiPCplus internal eMMC? Searched the forum but couldnt pinpoint anything.. Christos
  8. Hi, I seem to have "fried" the default Debug TTL UART (the 3 pins next to the hdmi connector). (connecting the ground of the usb-ttl to TX of the UART and leaving it there for a few minutes is not a good idea it seems :-)). The orangepipc+ still works when booting from emmc (armbian 5.17 debian jessie, kernel 4.7.3) but does not seem to want to boot from microsd (tried console only 5.17/4.7.3, 5.21/4.8.1). So I would like to debug that but whatever usb-ttl I connect I don't see anything (tried 3 different usb-ttl to make sure it was not the usb-ttl device)> My question: is it possible to see uboot messages (or at least the kernel boot) via a different port then the Debug TTL UART? And if so, how?
  9. I have done a fresh install of Armbian 5.20 for my pc+. I was hoping that the software defined radio software GQRX would now be able to find Pulse Audio and work properly. But I still get the same error. 192.168.6.103george@orangepipcplus:~$ sudo gqrx [sudo] password for george: linux; GNU C++ version 4.9.1; Boost_105500; UHD_003.007.003-0-unknown gr-osmosdr 0.1.3 (0.1.3) gnuradio 3.7.5 built-in source types: file osmosdr fcd rtl rtl_tcp uhd miri hackrf bladerf rfspace airspy Using Volk machine: neon_hardfp_orc pulseaudio/pa_sink.cc: pa_simple_new() failed: Connection refused Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Could not resolve property : pattern10600 Thanks in advance. 10. Hi first of all sorry for my bad English .I have an OPI PC + ,I install Ubuntu on my sd card and after boot i used nand-sata-install command to use may nand but when i tryied to use my sd card (after format sd card) it did't work and after reboot i receive "panic= boot argument" how can i use my sd card and mount it when my dist installed on nand? even i checked this link for Cubietruck but it wasn't useful for OPI , and then i checked this and it was really hopeful but I don't now how can i exactly implement this .Actually I need to auto mount my sd card as a result when I reboot my OPI PC + I need my OPI boot from emmc instead of sd card. thank you for your attention
  11. I got 2 x Orange PI pc+ running Armbian (install by same SD card on eMMC). My two orange pi pc+ got same wlan0 mac address. I did research on forum and saw some suggestion about bug of Network-Manager. I try remove (purge) Network-Manager but see no difference. I also try look in u-boot but don't know how to set mac address on the u-boot part. How should I make my 2 pc+ board have difference mac address? want to run these two board under the same wifi network. Please suggest. Thank you very much in advance.
  12. I was testing the orangepi PC+ armbian build 5.20 (Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop) when messing with it it seemed to have random reboots. I thought initially it was because it was lacking a heatsink or fan. So I added both and the issue persisted. Thinking maybe if I flashed to emmc it might resolve the issue it froze in emmc install and is effectively softbricked from what I can tell sadly. I also tested a second OPIPC+ but was unable to get it to boot. I tested with multiple new power cables as well.
  13. Hey. I'm not sure if I perhaps caught the Armbian website in the middle of an update, but there doesn't seem to be any Ubuntu (Xenial) builds for H3 boards anymore ... with the exception of the NanoPi Neo. It's all Legacy Jessie builds right now. Thanks,
  14. At first i like to say that this problem is not caused by Armbian. On my OpiPC+ my EMMC has became unusuable. I got a first hint to this by updating 5.17 Jessie Desktop to 5.20, that failed after downloading 135 MB of Files. I did not thought of an Error and compiled 5.20 myself, put it on SDcard and run nand-sata-install. The Script does it work without any Errors, but after power down, the Opi did not come up again. Put in the SDcard again and tried to look at the EMMC but it was not mountable. There were some Errors fixed by running fsck but next time i tried to write on the Emmc i got Errors again, in fact i tried to run nand-sata-install again after i tried to boot from Emmc again, that fails. I run fsck again and wrote a new partiton Table, next fsck-run was without errors, everything looks fine, but next time mounting Emmc gives bad Supeblocks Errors etc. again. I have used the OPi a couple of Month as Desktop replacement, that was sufficient for me, according to Powerconsumption. As Browser i used Chromium, that was stolen from Ubuntu 14.04 armhf (you only need three Files from the Ubunto repos, the Browser itself, chromium-extra-codecs and libgcrypt, but this is not working on 5.20 because of the new opengl feature.) I think writing a lot of Files to EMMC has broken it somehow, so the Opi running from EMMC is not the best for this needs, perhaps running from a Filessystem in Ram would be a better solution.( I have used PuppyLinux and Tinycore on slow x86 Machines and speed was amazing for the old desktops.) Anyway, has someone any Ideas to get the EMMc back to life? Regards
  15. Hi, I'm trying to install Armbian 5.20 vanilla kernel to eMMC on my Opi PC+. After nand-sata-install finishes I shutdown the Opi PC+ and power it back on. At least, I enable the power, I don't see anything happening in minicom on my pc. Only when powering it with a microsd in the slot (with armbian) will the uboot show in minicom on my pc. Doing a nand-sata-install with 5.14 legacy worked. What am I doing wrong (especially seeing nothing after a reboot with my ttl-to-usb connected is a bit strange for this noob)?
  16. Hi Everyone. I have been looking for a way to connect this keypad directly to my Orange Pi PC+ directly through gpio without resistors. https://www.adafruit.com/product/1332 I also need software (hopefully either bash or python) to read a key press and then either run a script or perform a command. If anyone here done this or even connected 1 switch to gpio (without resistors), could you please post the solution or a link to follow. Thanks. V
  17. Let me start to express my gratitude for the wealth of information and software which is available here. I'm a longtime user of a usb 2.0 soundcard along with a laptop with KXStudio and Guitarix. I've used this setup many times for gigging and home recording and it proved to be stable. One of the downsides is the "voluminous" laptop. I've my soundcard mounted in a small 19" flightcase with one rack still open. For some years I've been thinking of making rack mountable effectprocessor from a board to substitute the laptop. So, to start this journey I've ordered a OPi PC (along with a good quality micro SD card!), of course not a heavyweight board, but my first goal is to see it working (I've had old laptops with similar specs which did the job). The route I want to go is to install Ambrian along with the KXStudio repo's (which contains the latest version of Guitarix). Step 2 will be to connect and install a small TFT touchscreen. Is this a good route to take? Any tips? I'll will post my results here (also the failures). Let's see what comes of it! Hans
  18. Hi folks! I'm a proud owner of 120 Orange Pis. Now I want to do git deployment and reboot the device. I've enabled the ttyS3 for serial connection. Now I want to reboot the device. Sadly enough the device shuts down when executing a reboot or "sudo init 6"command. And when I type shutdown, the device is still on. I've search all kinds of forums, but I cannot find a suitable fix for this. Thanks in advance!
  19. I have tested with two SDs - the same result. But vanilla works perfect! Strange is that after dd command I can't mount SDs with legacy, but vanilla I can. I've downloaded legacy twice.
  20. Please give me your recommendation for my OPiPC+ to use Armbian and Asterisk I see there are 3 options for Armbian for my model. I am not good with linux and would prefer a GUI for both Armbian and Asterisk. Also I am wanting as "Lightweight" as possible. I will not be using the OPi for anything else but a phone system. Also could you give me steps to take to add Asterisk to Armbian. Thanks
  21. I ordered OPI PC+ as a testing device for a potential battery/solar powered project (using OPI Lite/One later on) and while testing the built-in WiFi on OPI PC+, it seems it's not possible to power it off once enabled, or perhaps I'm doing something wrong. If the wlan0 entry in /etc/network/interfaces is commented out, the idle current is roughly 210 mA, and after issuing sudo poweroff, it drops to near zero. With wlan0 enabled, the idle current is roughly 310 mA, but after powering off, it drops to about 100 mA and stays that way until disconnected from DC. Attempting to do sudo ifconfig wlan0 down does not seem to change anything (wireless goes down, but the idle current remains at 310 mA and poweroff current remains at 100 mA). I'm not sure how other devices behave (I'm new to both Orange Pi as well as Armbian) but it doesn't seem OK. Is there a way to power off the on-board RTL8189 somehow, or could this be a potential bug? Thanks for any guidance in advance! Edit: I forgot to mention I installed the Jessie server 5.14 / kernel 3.4.112 image and then did sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get upgrade so dpkg now reports 5.16 for the sun8i packages. The only hardware connected to the board is the GC2035 camera for testing, but the only module currently enabled in /etc/modules is 8189fs.
  22. Hello all, I recently got an orange pi pc plus, and am going to try to use it as a server. However, I do not want it to boot into the desktop GUI as this wastes precious computational resources. How do I force the Pi to boot into the terminal? I am using armbian in order to have the system boot off of the EMMC flash memory. Thanks.
  23. PC+ arrived today. Formated 8 GB SD card with FAT32, copied Armbian_5.14_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.raw onto it. Green LED turns on after power applied to the board, but within seconds the red LED turns on. No output at all on HDMI. I had previously gotten a OPi PC (not plus) to work and was using it for a month so I am surprised that the PC+ is having these problems. Any suggestions? Different Linux distro? In desperation, I plugged the SD card used for the OPi PC (not plus) and it boots for several seconds, with HDMI printout stopping at "Starting LSB: tune IDE hard disks" with the red and green LEDs on. Thanks in advance....
  24. I have Orange Pi PC plus. When I install Jessie Desktop it doesn't start desktop and only runs command prompt. Tell me how to start Desktop
  25. I received my Pi Pc plus today which is strange because I thought I ordered the Pi pc. I downloaded the armbian Jessie desktop and used 7zip to extract it to the sd card. It will not load off the card. It would not load raspbian for the raspberry Pi. What it is doing is loading android whether the sd card is inserted or not. Can anyone offer suggestions to try? OS downloaded from here: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ It has emmc I can't even make some of the things work on android.??
