Hi Igor,

First of all thanks a lot for all the work that you do, its awesome.

I do experience some problems with the latest kernel version 3.4.110 that I compiled with PMP support with the RTL8211E PHY interface. Its something weird going on. I can ping the card but i get multiple interruptions:

PING 10.20.104.243 (10.20.104.243) 56(84) bytes of data.

And most interesting is that if I do a nmap on some ports they appear filtered, but their not, there is no firewall enabled.

Starting Nmap 6.45 ( http://nmap.org) at 2015-11-11 17:16 EST

Nmap scan report for 10.20.104.243

Host is up (0.00070s latency).

PORT   STATE    SERVICE

22/tcp filtered ssh

Now, at home I'm using a TP link wd841 router and seems to work but not always, to make it work i need to unplug the net cable and then plug it back in and seems its working fine, but at work, where I have a bunch of HP switches seems its not liking them at all. I even tried to connect it directly to a laptop and same problem, I can ping but can't reach any service hosted by the OS.

I understand there's no need for driver for this ethernet chip because its just a Level 1 transceiver so I assume there would be bugs in GMAC?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'l try to compile some older kernel version too just to give it a test.

I would suggest you to fast forward and use kernel 4.19.y and see if there are still any gmac bugs left. I doubt. Kernel you want to use is more or less abandoned and we will trash it from build system completely the moment we implement video accelerating into modern kernel. The last major feature that exists only in legacy kernel.

Use build script with a parameter EXPERT="yes" to gain access to unsupported configurations. Boards that are declared EOL we don't check any more and I can only hope images build with tools still works. They usually do.
