Debian_jessie locks up with 4th network interface

I am using: Armbian_5.14_Odroidc2_Debian_jessie_3.14.71

 

I am a bit stumped....if I run with 3 network interfaces, everything is fine.

If I add a fourth interface...the system locks up...even if the 3rd and 4th interface have no ip address.

They just need to be live!

 

I have tried 4 drastically different interfaces in case the device driver can't handle it. 

 

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions??

any error messages?   have you tried attaching TTL serial console to look for messages?
