Cubietruck - Power Button

Hello,

I try to build a headless music server, that can

- boot from nand then from ssd

- audio needs to work, SPDIF and analog

- runs mopify
- Power on / off via script

All Images I tried so far - Ubuntu Trusty, Ubuntu Trusty upgraded to Vivid, Debian Jessie - do somehow not support the Power button. Same to Lubuntu 2.0 stock and Stefanius images.

I did install acpid and acpi-support-base

I configured systemd as described here

http://www.forum-cubieboard.de/Thread-cubietruck-pwr-on-powerknopf?page=3

just does not work.

If possible I'd like a latest system - Jessie or Vivid, but thats secondary.

Cubietruck_Debian_4.0_wheezy_3.4.108 -

apt-get update && apt-get install acpid acpi-support-base

=> E: unable to locate package: acpi-support-base

Cubietruck_Debian_4.0_jessie_3.4.108

I configured both, acpid and systemd - just no reaction while pressing the button

Anyone has a working system, and can share the findings?

Edit: Found this:

and it seems to show the way for wheezy. Still testing.

Hello DerDon

Not a real answer to your question butt.. just pointing to an audiophile music player i use with a Raspberry + hifiberry DAC.

Again i didn't test it on a CubieTruck but, there is a special version available witch might solve your need.

Power button is not supported by kernel 3.4.108 which is currently the only one where audio features and boot from NAND works. This is common for all distros.

Possible solution is by using any A20 board with kernel 4.x and some supported external DAC while boot loader must remain on SD card. Loading system from SSD is possible in any case.
