Desktop-Image for Banan pi

sorry for my very bad english.

 

I have installd the desktopimage for the bananapi m1. It works.

 

But same programms does work because the autmatic login user is root.

 

So exaile, chromium-browser does start.

 

Synatipc starts from the gui after starting the AT-bus programm (see menu starting programms)

 

Tunar needs to install the gvfs-backend, then you can see the computers in the network.

 

To change the language in the gui you need to install the language-pack-de (for german).

 

I have also a cubitruck and thin this problems also in the image for the cubietruck.

 

The first problems can solved when the automic user is not root. The other when the packeges are in the images.

 

Also the is the near the best images for the bananpi.

Hello and thanks for your feedback / suggestions.

 

Chromium. It's very difficult to build Chromium for ARM 32 in general, not just for Allwinner devices. The last one which was possible to build is old (I think v40.x) and it does not work on all distributions. It's out of my power to provide updated Chromium.

 

This is my first desktop build and of course there are issues. Thanks for tips and suggestions - I'll fix reported issues and the one that are fixable with my knowledge. My primary goal is to maintain stable CLI, desktop is added value which will also maintain in minimalistic way. With tools that works.

 

Banana and Cubietruck desktops are build the same way so they share problems.

i have add a user "milo". Can you tell me how to change the autologinuser "root" to the user "milo". In which scripts i must do a change?

I have search in google but can find the right way.

thanks. Most of the thinks i need works.

 

Before i have change the default user from root to mario in nodm i have edit the file "groups". I put the user mario in the group sudo, netdev, root and so on.

 

The system boots and works. I must configure again the keyboard layout. Only Shutdown and starting synaptic with sudo in the terminal works, i must google this.

 

The service bluetooth is running, but wich package (programm) for the gui i must install?

 

chromium and exile runs.

 

I have an raspberry pi 2 with ubuntu-mate, but it is not so fast as  your Desktopdistro under the banana pi m1.
