Gary W Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) Hi all, I'm wondering if there is any armbian resources for this chip? I got thousands of Hi3798mv300 / Hi3798mv310 chips from my uncle who is recycling hardware devices from some factories. If I can activate all of them. I will be able to build a real cluster in my farm for many upcoming MPP test. Thanks, Gary Willmes Edited September 7, 2021 by Gary W 0 Quote
umiddelb Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Fist of all, you should have a source for building the firmware and the kernel. At this time there seems to be no mainline kernel support for this particular chip (https://github.com/torvalds/linux/tree/master/arch/arm64/boot/dts/hisilicon). 0 Quote
RayChang Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) This IC manufactured by Huawei is mainly used for Android TV Boxes, one of my TVs is using it. I'm afraid you couldn't. This chip has built-in security features, the boot ROM code will check the signature of the bootloader. Third party software could not be loaded. You can find some relevant information on the Internet. Edited March 4, 2022 by RayChang 1 Quote
