It's only 16MB. Smallest Armbian is about 1GB and it needs more space to operate. SPI flash is big enough for a boot loader, but the OS would have to be on other storage like USB drive.

schwar3kat Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 If you don't want to use an SD card and you are booting from a USB drive, then yes, otherwise not really. I did it on a couple of old boards that boot off a partition on USB 3TB hard drives and serve as backup storage, but SD cards are now so cheap, so it's not really necessary. Disadvantage is that boot loader upgrade is slightly more difficult.
