FJOtero Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Hi, community! I wish you have a nice day! Started investigating why do I have problems trying to hear something from headphones. So, I believe there is something about HDMI audio codec related to panfrost, attached you will find info about. I guess this will be useful to catch bugs. I'm 73 years old, started on computers on NCR Century 100 as field engineer. From those years to now, a long development has brought to life.... Cheers, and many thanks to you! dmesg112222.txt armbianmonitor112122.txt 0 Quote
FJOtero Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) Hi, Community! I've solved that problem, so I tell you that there are some bugs to fix. I'm not sure panfrost is away of this, but dmesg shows a double instance of hdmi-audio, this was my lead to trail on. The solution: pactl pointing to hw:0.0 making it the sink. But, desktop is xfc4, pasystray does not differentiate between sinks, and there are two module-alsa-card, don't know why (further investigation on course) I am a hardware trained engineer, so messing with configs bothers me. attached you will find dmesg of today, hearing classical music! I hope these files help you to correct these instances. If any investigations of mine reveals something else, I'll let you know. Thank you very much, for motivation!!!! Least, but not last, this was done on new, fresh install, to avoid old configs, to be sure..... audioexito PulseAudio_Examples_-_ArchWiki__Linux-generated_files-job_2.pdf Edited November 25, 2022 by FJOtero forgot tell last line... 0 Quote
balbes150 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 There are no problems with audio devices on T4. It was enough just to open Volume Control (on the panel XFCE) and choose which device to output sound through. Started playback, opened Volume control and selected in the drop-down list what to use for audio output. 0 Quote
FJOtero Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Hi, balbes150! Only messing by means of terminal. I have two instances apparently equal, and an indication of that issue on dmesg, as you can see. So I attribute all of these issues to my deep ignorance, trying to diminishing.... Thank you for your kind answer. Regrets, Francisco 0 Quote

balbes150 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 In these versions, the sound works with HDMI and analog 3.5. To switch where to output the sound, use the applet on the XFCE panel (Volume control menu item), use Jammy https://users.armbian.com/balbes150/nanopc-t4/ 0 Quote
