hadestlse Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Hello everybody, I am french. I bought a Retrostation on X96 Max+ support I used "Armbian_20.02.0-rc1.038_Aml-s9xxx_eoan_current_5.5.0-rc6_desktop_20200205.img" with BalenaEtcher and I changed some files like explained on this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_V50MuJ7DE&ab_channel=AmirsafeTechnology But when I boot on my support with Linux, I have a strange display, like not normal ^^ I wanted to know if I can do an update maybe for the display or maybe I choose a wrong dtb file ? If someone know this problem, please help me ^^ Have a nice day/night ^^
SteeMan Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Moved post to the correct forum. Please read: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first The build you are using is over 2 and a half years old. Please read: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus (Note that you may need to change the extlinux.conf file to read: "LINUX /uImage" , I am investigating an issue, but I haven't yet confirmed it on an s905x3 box like yours).
ccs1664 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Hello hadestlse Follow the instruction written by SteeMan, definitely, it's works https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first cc
hexdump Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 not sure if its related, but it might be worth to give this kernel patch a try: https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-amlogic/patch/20221116143523.2126-1-the.cheaterman@gmail.com/ ...
hadestlse Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Hello everyone, thank you for your interesting answers. I'm looking that ^^ 😘
hadestlse Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 @hexdump I would like to try this solution but how can I do this ? Making a launch file ? or launching all the commands on the terminal mode ?
SteeMan Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 @hadestlse It is assumed that you have the knowledge and skills to build linux kernels and apply patches if you are going to attempt to do that. If not then I wouldn't recommend trying to incorporate the patch @hexdump referenced above. Not knowing your level of developer knowledge, I would first point you towards the Armbian developer docs. https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/
hadestlse Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Thank you Steeman, No I don't know lot of things about Linux, more to Dos ^^ Old school... Maybe it's too soon to search solution but not to apply an existing solution ^^ I will keep on looking for it. Have a nice day and thank you again ^^
