Login after emmc install incorrect

When i run from sdcard on first boot it asks a series of questions and sets up the sd card. Image from here: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-4-lts/

I then run ambian-install to install to emmc, then reboot.

At this point it asks for a login, and the default (root 1245) doesnt work, or the ones i created on the sd card do not work!

 

How can i login to the device after install and configure it?

It looks like there is a bug in the first step (when you set a new root password, it remains the same 1234). As a temporary solution, log in to the installed system with the root password (1234) and change it again to a new one.
