Is it possible to plug in a phone via USB to use its hotspot? Like windows/mac, you can plug in your phone via usb and use its hotspot through a usb cable. Is that possible instead of using an ethernet cable?

I guess so. Basic USB Support is built into Armbian. Everything beyond is handle in userspace.

Again this is most likely handled in userspace, therefore causal tutorials for Debian/Ubuntu apply so check here:

Plug your phone in. Set it to USB tethering. NetworkManager will probably detect the connection and you can use it like an ethernet connection.
