rfehr Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Hi Guys, is there a plan to build a version for the Allwinner A80 boards? I have a Tronsamt Draco AW80 http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-draco-aw80-meta.html, and want to use Debian on it. But they don't have any Debian Version to download, only Ubuntu. best regrads Roland
Igor Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Debian / Ubuntu or Android share the same old kernel 3.4.39. There is also no much activity on this kernel which makes sense. But there is a hope with mainline kernel. Basic functions should work but I haven't got luck to confirm this. I own Cubieboard 4 which should be bootable on kernel 4.x but no luck so far. I am doing something wrong. The other board which is supported by mainline is Merii Optimus A80 for now. Others can be adopted but you need to have some documentations and access to hardware. I won't make images with old kernel but with 4.x when I find a way to boot the board and basic things (for server usage) are going to work.
rfehr Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Hi, Thanks for your answer. I wan't to use the Tronsmart as Build Machine, and the old 3.4.39 is enough for me. I only need debian on that Machine, but i can't find anything best regrads Roland
Igor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I am not familiar with this Tronsmart device but you can try to boot Cubieboard 4 Debian. This is closest you can get at the moment. http://docs.cubieboard.org/tutorials/cc-a80/start#linux_distrabutions
rfehr Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 I know that downloads, but i can't write that images with the phoenixcard tool to a sd-card. Tronsmart wants a special format
rfehr Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 I can make a bootable android sdcard, with other images, but not any of the cubietruck images ?
