Christos Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Hi, Where should I place a .patch in order to be taken into account on a next custom armbian built? This is for building legacy images. Need to have a modified nanopineo.fex and got a .patch for it, where should I place it in order to be applied on top of the armbian-provided one? P.S. Seen this -> https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_User-Configurations/ but it only mentions u-boot and kernel.
Christos Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 @Igor, Is this something that can be done? or we can have userpatches only for u-boot and kernel sources?
zador.blood.stained Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 It was discussed before, you can't use a patch for a fex file, but you can edit it in-place or provide your own file using customize-image.sh script
Christos Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Ok zador, just wondering how it could be done and did not find anything relevant after searched in the forum and docs. Thanks
zador.blood.stained Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Ok zador, just wondering how it could be done and did not find anything relevant after searched in the forum and docs. You need to improve your Google-Fu: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1504-about-patch-process/#entry11717 https://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/853-armbian-customization/#entry6606 1
Christos Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 You need to improve your Google-Fu: Didnt search for customize-image.sh at that time, only custom fex buid etc. (Google-Fu.. )
sgufa Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Hi, is there a way to replace the default fex for a board with a custom one somewhere in userpatches in order to mantain source lib updateability? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you Sorry, i did not see it Edited January 26, 2017 by sgufa Moved here. It was even on the first page of the same subforum
