wgrymo
Hello, I have been looking for days without finding an answer, so here goes. I want to know if there is a way of turning on the banana pi, without using the onboard switch. Because the Banana pi r1 doesn't power on automatically when powered by the battery connector. And i don't want to solder wires on the pwr button, but i would also like to avoid using the usb connections because of the lower power throughput. Thank you in advance for the information. technik007_cz
Hi, the bananapi board does not support wake on lan and when my board (non r1) is only battery powered I must press power or reset button to wake it up. I think capacitor + resistor soldered between power or reset button pin and power source can do some king of watchdog and turn your board on/reset it when you plug in or unplug power adapter. Tell me why are you looking for another option?
wgrymo
Thank you for your response. I'm looking for another way of turning the board on because i have made a 3d design (a friend of mine has a 3d printer) to put the banana pi in a nas enclosure. So the banana pi will be at the back of this enclosure to be able to connect all the network cables. But the power button is on the other side of the board, so when it is in the case i can't press it. And i don't want to void my waranty by soldering directly on the board unless there is no other option.
technik007_cz
Ask somebody who has previous experiences with soldering because if you will use thin wires and proper soldering kit with output power regulation it can be undone with no sign of previous soldering. Trust me I did it before.
