mfoo Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I’ve been running Armbian from an SSD for a while using this guide: https://jamesachambers.com/orange-pi-zero-2-usb-ssd-boot-guide/ Recently, after running apt update && apt full-upgrade, the following issues have occurred: 1. Wi-Fi adapter is no longer detected. 2. CPU utilization exceeds 80% when accessing the Gnome launcher or starting GUI apps (e.g., a web browser, even without opening a webpage). 3. The system becomes laggy and nearly unusable, noticeable when moving the mouse. Are there recent changes to Armbian that affect SSD booting? Is there a workaround for these issues? 0 Quote
Werner Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Hi Providing logs with PASTE_SERVER_HOST=paste.armbian.de armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed. 0 Quote
mfoo Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 After reporting the issue, I booted from the microSD card and ran sudo apt update && apt full-upgrade with no issue. Following your request for logs, I reconnected the SSD and booted from it, and now everything is working fine. I assume both the SD card and SSD need to be updated to ensure proper functionality. I'm curious why both the microSD and SSD need updating now, but not in the past. I’ll continue monitoring and report any new findings. 0 Quote
