Taha YILDIRIM Posted Wednesday at 10:01 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:01 AM Hello, I have been trying to get sound working on my Orange Pi Zero 3, and I am facing persistent issues. I installed every operating system listed on Armbian’s Orange Pi Zero 3 page and followed all the standard setup procedures. Despite updating all packages and even performing kernel updates, I have never been able to get any sound output from the device. I have checked multiple configurations, tried different OS images, and ensured that all drivers are up to date, but nothing works. The device otherwise functions normally, but audio simply does not come through under any circumstances. Could you please provide guidance or a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 0 Quote
vd3 Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM you need linux kernel >=6.13 (you can use edge kernel) 0 Quote
Taha YILDIRIM Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago I tried the edge kernel, but the image became distorted. With extended use, it produced kernel artifacts. 0 Quote
robertoj Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Can you try: * activate "analog-codec" within armbian-config * run: sudo apt install alsa-utils * run: alsamixer (text user interface to increase volume by individual output) * basic mp3 player: "sudo apt install mpg123" (instructions for orange pi zero LTS, but it may still work for opiz3) What do you mean by "image became distorted", and "kernel artifacts"? Can you build your own armbian OS with armbian build? (with Linux edge version) 0 Quote
Taha YILDIRIM Posted 48 minutes ago Author Posted 48 minutes ago With the H618 kernel, the system is very stable but there is no audio output at all. With the H616 kernel, audio works perfectly, but the system starts showing screen distortions, artifacts, and UI crashes. When I said “image became distorted” and “kernel artifacts”, I meant things like the screen going black, color blocks appearing, and the desktop environment crashing. I already tried enabling analog-codec, installing alsa-utils, using alsamixer, and testing with mpg123, but the result didn’t change. I haven’t built my own Armbian image yet, but I’m considering trying an edge kernel with the Armbian build system. 0 Quote
