Udo Waechter
Hi there, as already discussed here, https://forum.armbian.com/topic/5318-looking-for-an-enclosure-for-espressobin/?do=findComment&comment=49396 it seems that this 4-sata mini pci express card is supposed to be supported by armbian. As I wrote in that post, it doesn't work for me. I've tried Armbian default and next. The cards work, since I got them running with espressobin's Ubuntu distribution. Also, I've compiled a 4.4.52 Kernel according to: http://wiki.espressobin.net/tiki-index.php?page=Build+From+Source+-+Kernel It also works just fine with Armbian. So, my guess is that there's something different in the kernel config provided by linux-marvel and armbian when it comes to this chipset. For reference, I've attached the screen output from a boot with the sata card. I can not seem to find the kernel-config in the armbian-buildroot. Where do I find that? I've already set *KERNEL_KEEP_CONFIG="yes"* in default-config.conf Any help is aprreciated. Cheers! udo, screenlog.0.defauft
Igor
Have you changed/updated u-boot on SPI flash? If not, this is the first thing to do.

Igor
You should pick exactly the one you have now. There is no speed increase but you ended up this way Good point is that this board is unbreakable. One way to recover is this: http://wiki.espressobin.net/tiki-index.php?page=Boot+ESPRESSObin+from+SATA+drive and second option is via UART which is more complicated. When you are back, repeat flashing SPI, move jumpers back ...
Udo Waechter
Thanks for the help. My device doesn't work with the flash-image-1g-1200_750_boot_sd_and_usb.bin image, but the 1000_800 does work just fine. Even the SATA-Card works now. Thanks again! Cheers!
odoll
BTW: fell into the same pit and also got it working again with flash-image-1g-1cs-1000_800_boot_sd_and_usb.bin (v? from May 10th 2018). Got mine with only one chip on the back just a few days ago shipped from Amazon/US. However to You can obtain numbers from the current boot prompt., what are the appropriate commands to figure the right u-boot version for a board? It might be helpful to mention those on the site as well ;-)
