Heisath
Hi, quick question, is the Bug/Limitation listed in the docs (https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Marvell/#bugs-or-limitation_1) regarding using sfp with mainline kernel still there? Or was it fixed in the meantime? I am thinking about ordering a sfp module but want to make sure it is supported first. zador.blood.stained
Not supported in mainline ("next" branch currently 4.14) yet, but the major requirement for it (mvneta phylink migration) was merged to kernel 4.16, so after it is released activating SFP on Cleargogs should be just a matter of adding a couple of patches to the build system. SFP works in the "dev" kernel branch - currently it points to the Russell King's kernel tree - he is the developer that sent these patches upstream, but since it is based on a release candidate kernel version I would not recommend using it for anything beyond simple testing. I tested it with a couple of fiber SFP modules and it worked for me. Also SFP works on the "default" branch (kernel 4.4).
Heisath
Thanks, then I will wait for 4.16 - and organise some module to test it. Going back to 4.4.y is not an option
