Well that's an argument I cant deny.. @botfap for bionic it should be easy --> just switch the renderer in their yaml file. btw. I did some first tests with a 'fatconfig partition' for basic network configuration which should be shreded and deleted after first boot (and then overwritten by resize rootfs).. not ready yet and for sure not clean enough for a PR but it worked basically. /boot /rootfs /1mb fat

Why not implement an 'unbricker' as well? http://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Advanced-Features/#how-to-unbrick-the-system e.g. check which one is installed and then give the user the opportunity to choose an older one. 1
