Gary Blake ヅ
Using this file or upgrading from an older version results in no sda showing up. Please Help! http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/Armbian_5.00_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_4.4.1.zip Please ask for further information as I am still learning a lot. Thanks Igor, great work on the distros. Igor
First try to use different cables to power the board. I just tested - Banana Pi with mechanical SATA powered from Banana. First disk was also not powering up but when I used different cable set it worked.
Gary Blake ヅ
Thanks for the prompt reply Igor. I feel a donation coming along! I've tried another SATA cable. They are both old. I will try a proper set bought dedicated for the banana pro that i will grab from my Armbian jessie vanilla NAS setup. (I will not upgrade that server until this has been resolved!) Cable quality does not feel like the problem here but will try it! Thanks Gary
Gary Blake ヅ
3rd cable failed. If i install from 4.5 it works. as soon as i atp-get upgrade to 5.00 it breaks the SATA!?
Igor
OK, I was already looking closely but it's working fine for me. Huh. I guess I need to look more. Can you check if SATA is working within U-boot? You have (serial) console / keyboard?

Gary Blake ヅ
OK, I was already looking closely but it's working fine for me. Huh. I guess I need to look more. Can you check if SATA is working within U-boot? You have (serial) console / keyboard? I'm new to uboot. have used linux for a very long time but that i have no knowledge about. I will google it now. zador.blood.stained
Hm. Google came up with this: https://lkml.org/lkml/2015/7/31/260 Mentioned "nointremap" option is related to IOMMU (Even though it says about x86-64 arch) CONFIG_IOMMU_SUPPORT was enabled just recently from @wildcat_paris' config. Maybe it is related?

zador.blood.stained
I'll build new kernel without IOMMU options for you to test later, and if it doesn't fix your issues, then you should probably stick to using 4.
