the beta automatical build for Pinebook boots u-boot, then kernel, but in kernel is something messed up (the LCD shutdowns after few second of kernel booted), but I will try to fix it, to have "dev" support too

We need to sort that out, 4.19.y is only interesting on this Pinebook. Remove all but https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/patch/kernel/sunxi-dev/general-packaging-4.17-dev.patch and try ... than add patch by patch. I have no idea which is breaking this ATM.

Should network manager automatically modify dnsmasq.conf ?

I overlooked and I though you have used our tool to make AP:

For the way you want to make it, I never tried and I think you should look into the manual if exists. It's a generic problem unrelated to Armbian.

As an Armbian newbie and in the hope for improvement on WIFI for Olimex Teres-1 i tried to test the update on my system.

I was playing yesterday with Teres 1 and at least wifi worked ... try hard reboot and without having anything attached to the USB. If you can, build a complete new image. Wait for new patches - i have to push them up.

    Hi,

I would like to run my NanoPi M4 from an external USB3 SSD.

Does anybody know if the images here:

    http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_M4#Work_with_FriendlyCore

Will work? Or are they specifically for SD or eMMC?

If they won't work, how do I modify to make it work?

    Many thanks!

    M

Without eMMC/SD card as boot device its not possible. Not Armbian and not their builds.

Armbian works out of the box. Just do your homework: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/

Sure. But seems a bit strange that published linux-headers would be built on another machine than the one that build the kernel. Just for the sake of consistency.

I am only interested in solving this problem in general - if I find some time. Until then it's in users domain.

I mean something that we can help contributing ?

Repository https://github.com/armbian/upload shows which packages are in the repository. You upload them in the same location as they come from the build script and script do the rest. This service is as is. I am not changing MO. I can only stop doing this.

You can't request to every user to go build their own armbian image

Why should I solve every problem that pops out?? Solving this problem requires costly manual intervention(s) or costly coding to limit manual interventions. None of that is available.

    It is frustrating indeed.

could you please push in the armbian repo the latest mvebu-next headers ?

    Anyone (trustworthy) can prepare it:
    https://github.com/armbian/upload

and start to take care of this problem in general.

  7. That is strange. Please provide:

    armbianmonitor -u

Here is my 8TB attached to, well, true SATA ... but that is irrelevant.

I would like to speak out a wish.

This board is not officially supported which should be clear from the information on the download page. Why is not supported? Because we already waste too much of very limited resources on a support which "you" cover <1%. This is community service and "you" have way way more wishes that available resources can cover.

You are on your own if you need certain changes. Since board exists in our builds system: https://github.com/armbian/build this is very simple.

    https://www.armbian.com/get-involved/

... and I will be glad to help you.
