Ali-leb reacted to Igor in USB WIFI for NanoPI NEO CORE
This information was never relevant to me. Regardless of hardware. Internal or external. The answer is: probably yes, but If you want that I run tests and confirm this ... you will do this much faster and cheaper.
On most cards AP/STA works as expected.

Ali-leb reacted to martinayotte in HOW TO CLONE EMMC (NANOPI NEO CORE)
Personally, I will still boot from SD Card to push back the backup image into eMMC .
I don't know much about FEL mode, maybe it could work, but maybe not ...

this way could i save an image of the emmc on my pc ? if not then how could I?
and if it was saved on my desktop then could i just simply write it to the nanopi !?

TRYING TO CLONE EMMC FROM ONE NEO CORE INTO ANOTHER.
I found this link below :
https://github.com/zador-blood-stained/fel-mass-storage
I still don't know if it works since i had to enter FEL MODE which i could not. maybe i am trying in a wrong way.
SO how could i get a clone EMMC of nanopi neo core (taking into consideration it might not have FEL mode)? but if it does then how to enter this mode?
and how to run this clone on another nanopi neo core?

Download whatever you like:
https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/
Use manual:
https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-usb
No support for that.

Ali-leb reacted to Igor in Wifi lb-link model: wn155a "MTK7601 chipset" driver (150Mbps)
wrong. this way
https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Advanced-Features/#how-to-build-a-wireless-driver
This module works on kernel 4.19.y ... Better use that one. You can also try with hints from this script https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/sunxi-4.18/packages/extras/mt7601.sh

Ali-leb reacted to Igor in create an ad-hoc network using wireless adapter (NANOPI NEO)
1. You are using one if not the cheapest USB wireless key
2. You will have much bigger chances of success by using a modern kernel which also have a better driver
It is possible that you need to have a special hostapd for this wifi chip ... try armbian-config way of setting AP.
