  1. But we need to know what you upgraded from.
  2. Can you be more specific? Having the system information for the working system would be necessary to understand your situation and the differences between working and not working.
  3. This is already specified in the FAQ: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus/#comment-168724 We shouldn't have multiple places with the same/similar information or over time they will get out of sync.
  4. Moved post to the correct location for OPi Zero2
  5. Updates do remove the entire dtb directory. So you would need to put the custom dtb file somewhere outside that directory and then adjust the extlinux.conf accordingly.
  6. A couple of comments: First don't expect wifi to ever work: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first/#comment-118794 Second you mention a wifi dongle not working. Have you installed armbian-firmware-full? By default the Armbian builds only include a limited set of firmwares out of the box.
  7. @Opertron No you don't use usb_burning_tool with Armbian images. Please read the following: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus And I think the following thread is for your box: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/24220-8gb128gb-media-player-h265-q96-max-smart-tv-box-android-11-amlogic-s905l-quad-core-24g-wifi-4k-set-top-box-home-theater/
  8. Ok. So the Armbian build you are using uses the android uboot bootloader on emmc to boot. Given what you report this looks like a bug in the android bootloader as it happens on Android as well as Armbian.
  9. What armbian build are you using?
  10. If you build from source the 'edge' kernel, you will get 6.6. FYI. Device dtb files do not persist across kernel updates, You will need to reapply for any kernel updates you receive.
  11. Have you tried an armbian build with a kernel newer than 6.1.x? The upstream patch you mention was incorporated after 6.1 and not back ported to 6.1. So the fix should be included in mainline (and thus armbian) in any kernel later than the 6.1 lts series.
  12. If you have the skills and knowledge to port Armbian to the box then yes. If you want to use existing builds then unlikely. In a quick search I found that the box uses an amlogic CPU, but didn't find out what exact model. Please read the following for more info: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus
  13. moved
  14. moved post to proper location
  15. @Ya_super_grafiti dts/dtb files are specific to the linux kernel. Armbian focuses on mainline linux kernels and others out there use vendor kernels (which usually are a ported android based kernels from ancient sources). The differences between vendor kernels and mainline linux are usually significant preventing direct reuse of a dts/dtb from one to the other. If you know how dtb's work and have the hardware specs, you could port the dts into mainline, but that is expert level work.
  16. @Silv3r_18 Welcome. Anything is possible, but it won't be easy. Search for other threads in the forum about TV Boxes and H616 support. Also read this FAQ item to understand that allwinner on TV Boxes is the least supported as there is no one that is actively focused on that cpu family on TV Boxes.
  17. No not the same thing at all
  18. These forums are for Armbian software. You need to go to ask your questions in a forum/site that supports the software you are running. If it isn't Armbian we can't help you.
  19. Based on this it doesn't look like you are running Armbian. If you are running orangepios then you need to direct your questions to their forums as we don't produce there images/builds.
  20. The short answer is that Armbian doesn't support TV boxes, so don't expect anything to work. Second, if your box is an rk3528 as you say, then there really is no support other than some very experimental work being done in support of that chip in tv boxes. What build of armbian did you install on sd that worked for you?
  21. My point as a moderator was to make sure proper expectations are in place. Within the Armbian framework this board is status "Community Support" which means it is not supported by Armbian, but Armbian provides framework and hosting resources for the board. The code is maintained by 'community' members, but that doesn't mean there is anyone currently maintaining this board. In fact the board is currently listed as not having an active maintainer, so no one has stepped up and is willing to commit to helping maintain this board within the community. I realize that others in this thread are working to help resolve this wifi issue, but that doesn't change the fact that there should be no expectation of support for this board from Armbian developers. Which was why I wanted to make sure you were engaged with Inovato support as they currently are the proper and only place to get support for this board.
  22. This really should be directed to the Inovato forums. Per the Inovato forum post on building (https://forum.inovato.com/post/building-armbian-from-source-12449428): "IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have any questions or problems with this process, by all means use the Armbian Forums to search for information, but please DO NOT ask questions if you can't find your answer. They don't support the Quadra firmware: We do. So please use the Support category on this forum."
  23. That is not an Armbian image. Being an Armbian forum we can only support Armbian images. You need to direct your question to the provider of your software image (orangepi). We can't help you here.
  24. armbianenv.txt is not used in the aml-s9xx-box builds. Have you installed other builds previously? If you started from a clean Android firmware this shouldn't be happening.
  25. As I said per the faq, Many features don't work on tv boxes. This behavior is common.
