  1. I am not sure if i understand you correctly, do you mean we can't disable Btrfs due to dependencies (or have Btrfs as a module if possible) in kernel 4.13.12 and above? Unless there have been significant changes from 4.11 to 4.13 but i can see kernel 4.11 there is no raid6 algorithm , so no ~3 secs delay. Sorry if i did not understand, i am doing some research on 4.13 and 4.14 for the H2+....   2. That's interesting, so disabling BTRFS (or as a module) would speed up boot times by ~2 to 3 secs if Btrfs not in use. Will do some experiments, but i have never used Btfrs.
  3. Good hint, both build with Kernel is 4.13.12 with same defconfig, but u-boot is different, FE u-boot vs Mainline u-boot, that explains a lot. Thanks.

  5. Out of curiosity, i have two different builds for the same board, burned it to the same sdcard and ran on the same board and the raid6 numbers are twice as fast for one case. Can anyone give some explanation what this numbers mean (if that means something running a SBC with sdcard)? I am curious to know what settings (or wrong settings) would give such a boost on this?     @lvmc, You probably know there is no CSI/VFE subsystem in kernel 4.xx , to have full control over DVP interface for OV5640 you should rely on legacy kernel or develop your own subsystem which is... well... overkill. As a start, you could look into ./config/boards and change from a current H2 board config file and modify/add information, since all H2 seems to be very similar with little changes. You just need to find the correct gpio/port pins for the ./config/fex (if legacy). Nora Lee from Foxconn has always provided information when asked, seems to be part of the business, need more information... just ask me. (you get the picture! ) Hope this helps.
  7. @tkaiser, Yes, i was talking about BSP, i just got a master degree in manipulating DTB/DTS, no more fex to DTS anymore. Will try and return with your changes.
  8. H3 uses FEX, H5 uses DT, lats time i changed to boot with 504 Mhz kernel complained and printed some errors that it was not set at 672 Mhz, so at least in u-boot DT is working. Maybe BOOT0 is hard-coded at 672 Mhz.
  9. FE suffers the same symptoms, u-boot legacy not. to be precise: u-boot 2014.7 (672 Mhz DRAM and 1008 Mhz SYS_CLK) works u-boot 2017.05 (FE) with previous pos configuration does not always works. last night Armbian u-boot: same symptoms as FE u-boot.
  10. Ok, if someone prepare the u-boot with 504 Mhz and/or 408 Mhz i test here. I posted additional info that could help, 672 Mhz is used in old u-boot ans SYS_CLK is at 1008 Mhz and it just boot fine, i thinl this is relevant. Link to the u-boot changes and i give some feedback. Please dd command to write the u-boot also.

  14. It happens on manufacturer Image also... I suspect this is the bug but have not done any research... as of the link @zador.blood.stained pointed, neo plus2 is not affected by this "supposed" (or confirmed) bug, at least when i tried some time ago with my experiments.

  16. Yes, you need /dev/cedar_dev. Cedrus just make calls to VE enine, thus works with any kernel. http://linux-sunxi.org/VE_Register_guide
  17. Cedrus is built into FFmpeg. I think you should try first libcedrus and to see if you can get video decoding working before. Build and install libcedrus: https://github.com/linux-sunxi/libcedrus Check if you can use MVP with cedrus.
  18. I don't think they will accept this... It is using deprecated functions and is more a hack than anything else , no real benefits for X86 users. Did you run as sudo/root? Can you please try using x264 and see if works? -c:v libx264

  20. Don't try to use FA OV5640 on Opi Extension , you will possibly damage the sensor. The pins are not compatible.
