  2. Hi. I'd want to set a custom MAC address to my cb2. I set the static mac address in u-boot environment variable ethaddr. If i print the environment (with "printenv command" i find it right there but when the system starts and i go through ifconfig i can see eth0 has a different MAC. Any suggestion on how to get MAC from u-boot? I'm on Armbian 5.20 legacy kernel. Thank you

  4. Hi I have problem with Cubieboard2 powering off during Legacy Armbian_5.14_Cubieboard2_Debian_jessie_3.4.112 boot. It had been explained a little bit here: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1178-cubieboard-1-legacy-boot-failure/ So maybe I need uBoot upgrade. I had written SD card with command: dd if=Armbian_5.14_Cubieboard2_Debian_jessie_3.4.112.raw of=/dev/sdd bs=1M and upgraded uboot from here: http://phelum.net/temp/CB2/u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin with command: dd if=u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin of=/dev/sdd bs=1k seek=8 full boot output here: U-Boot SPL 2016.05-12902-g0e6e34a-dirty (Jun 19 2016 - 21:55:16) DRAM: 1024 MiB CPU: 912000000Hz, AXI/AHB/APB: 3/2/2 Trying to boot from MMC1 U-Boot 2016.05-12902-g0e6e34a-dirty (Jun 19 2016 - 21:55:16 +1000) Allwinner Technology CPU: Allwinner A20 (SUN7I) Model: Cubietech Cubieboard2 I2C: ready DRAM: 1 GiB MMC: SUNXI SD/MMC: 0 *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment In: serial Out: serial Err: serial SCSI: SATA link 0 timeout. 5. Hi all, yeterday i connected a lipo battery to my cb2, made some stuff and then shut down. Today i've found my battery totally discharged so I started investigating. I've found that even if the system is shutdown i can measure about 4.5V on ipsout. I verified also the same situation on my second cb2. Searching on the web i've found this post. Any of you could confirm, please?

  7. I tried as described in the manuals Lubuntu: 1)sudo apt-get update 2) sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-* 3) sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth 4) sudo update-initramfs -u As a result, all the same boot black console rather than graphical theme. Please help us understand how to make the graphics theme at startup and reboot.

  9. I have a cubieboard2 (A20 - sunxi 7i) and i have attached an Foresee EMMC to it and i am able to boot a customised Sunxi-Kernel (3.4.104) from it. I also have an SDCARD with Armbian (Legacy) Jessie which also boots fine. My question is what do i need to do in order to get Armbian (legacy) Jessie to be able to mount the emmc? When i boot up Armbian via the sdcard, i can't see the emmc. Am i doing something wrong, or do i need to make some changes to the .fex file? Should i use the Armbian tool to make changes to the .fex file and roll a new u-boot, if so, can you guide me as to what changes i need to make in order to see both the sdcard and emmc flash devices from Armbian. By the way, I love Armbian (you guys have done a brilliant job), i think it is awesome and i want to use it as my default os on my emmc.
  10. Hi I have a cubieboard 2 and i used cubian but now i need to use jessie so i moved to armbian jessie. I try both vanilla et legacy headless img. I have a razberry connected to gpio and i use ethernet cable. For both img, first boot is ok but after i have a big bug at "stop autoboot". I join two picture from the HDMI output. Sometime after several reboot (hard reboot) it works but not well, for example i can't access to ssh and some services don't work anymore, mysql for example. I try different sd card and when i try cubian x1, it works well (but wheezy ) Thank
  11. I upgraded a cubieboard2 to kernel 5.11 and noticed that I have one core online and one core offline. Can someone confirm that?
  12. What are the steps to enable the regular (non-mali) LCD display (lcd0/1) with a Vanilla kernel? I can't find any examples of making the LCD work. What am I missing? Thanks Chris
  13. Hello, I have lubuntu installed on Cubieboard 2's NAND and I want to test Armbian. I've downloaded Armbian_5.10_Cubieboard2_Ubuntu_trusty_3.4.112 and write the image on a SD card using sudo dd if=Armbian_5.10_Cubieboard2_Ubuntu_trusty_3.4.112.raw of=/dev/rdisk2s1 But the cubieboard does't boot from the SD card, I get these error messages
  14. I started using armbian just a few days ago, I used the cb2 image. When I updated from 5.10 to 5.11 when I play a video, the video surface is darker, for example, instead of white I get grey. Just to be sure I put armbian 5.10 in another SD and videos played well, them update to armbian 5.11 and had the same problem with video playback. Does someone have any idea what is the problem? Until the problem is solved, how can I downgrade my armbian 5.11 to 5.10? Thanks. EDIT: I downloaded and installed the 5.10 pkgs: armbian-hostapd_5.10_armhf.deb linux-firmware-image-sun7i_5.10_armhf.deb linux-headers-sun7i_5.10_armhf.deb linux-image-sun7i_5.10_armhf.deb linux-jessie-root-cubieboard2_5.10_armhf.deb linux-u-boot-cubieboard2-default_5.10_armhf.deb and solved the problem with video playback, so for now I have it working again, lets hope the problem will be solved so I can upgrade my armbian system.
  15. Hello, I have a Cubieboard2 and armbian in a vanilla kernel with jessie flavor. This board has a 2 cores processor. When I am logging in, load average is shown and becomes red when it is greater than 1.0. Since, there are 2 cores, it should be colorized only when it reaches 2.0. Is it possible to have this feature (taking care of each board's number of cores) ? Thank you
  16. Dear Igor, first of all: Thank you very much for the work on armbian! My problem now is: I installed armbian on my cubieboard 2 (on 16 GB SD card) and first everthing went fine. I did all the management via putty and ssh but since a couple of days I can't ssh anymore. That means, ssh login with username and password is succesful, but I do not get any command line. Besides I get a couple of other problems: One is, when I boot up, I takes about 10 min, since problems with "LSB", this means: It takes about 5 minutes withe the message: "a start job is running for LSB: raise network interfaces" Similiar problems occur during shutting down the system (here with a different service) ... After login as user (non-root and root is the same), console output is stuck with: cat: /var/run/machine.id: no such file or directory Do yo have an idea what is causing the problme and how i can fix this? Thank you very much in advance! Oliver
  17. Where can I check out the linux kernel source code for Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 (/usr/src/linux, nothing more nothing less). The reason is that I had a Gentoo system running on Cubieboard 20 with an outdated kernel, and my attempt to build a new kernel was unsuccessful. But copying kernel and modules from Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 was really successful. And I have completely rebuilt the whole Gentoo userland using the Debian Wheezy 4.4.3 kernel. Now I want to re-generate a new 4.4.3 (or newer) kernel using Gentoo genkernel command. For that I only need linux source code. I suspect that the source codes from kernel.org need special patches.
  18. Hi, I just joined up so I'm an extreme newbie here. I'm running the legacy trusty version of Armbian just downloaded. The HDMI display and USB ports are working fine. The Cubieboard2 is showing up in the network. I need to get the SPI interface going to talk to a microcontroller -- an STM32F303. I've enabled the particular SPI port I need in the cubieboard2.fex file (derived from the stock cubieboard2.bin file) and created the cubieboard2.bin file in /boot/bin after backing up the original. After that change, I rebooted. I got the /dev/spidev0.0 to show up. What do the parameters in the spi_board section mean? Is that documented somewhere? Thanks, Chris Hallowell EMC
  19. Image: Armbian_5.04_Cubieboard2_Debian_jessie_4.4.3 Board: CubieBoard2 (SD+NAND version) Available platforms: i386 with Debian Jessie (sunxi tools) and PowerMac G5. Before Armbian, I had Cubian installed on an SD card. I saved the NAND root data and all the NAND? sub-partitions, so I have a full image of the original NAND and images of each partition. I took out the card, and inserted a fresh Armbian installation, it boots up quickly and works fine. However, as I wanted to set my CubieBoard2 up so it boots from a S-ATA disk (I bought a 1TB WDC drive), I decided to run nand-sata-install. But I got only one menu item to select, so I cancelled. I then did a cat /proc/partitions - to my big surprise, there was no 'nand' partitions. I did a ls -la /dev/ ... but no nand devices. I then decided to try booting from my Cubian SD card, but now the CubieBoard2 just blinks the LED. I can still boot from the Armbian SD card, but I'm quite puzzled what went wrong. My goal: To boot Armbian from the S-ATA disk on my CubieBoard2, so I can remove the MicroSD card from the MicroSD card slot. (I successfully partitioned the 1TB harddisk. Note: It took less than a second to partition it from the CubieBoard2).

The problem is that I power off my board every night (cron job) and It powers up every morning. So, I have to unplug and re-plug my stick every morning in order to use VDR. I tried to use a program "usbreset" to do this. But the driver is not loaded with this method. Could you help me diagnose the problem and maybe find a solution or a workaround ?
  21. I have a cubieboard2 running Armbian_4.5_Cubieboard2_Debian_jessie_4.2.3.zip and when I ran a seemingly innocent "npm search" command, the system became extremely slow. It responded to pings, but SSH commands were taking many minutes to complete. I was able to grab a screenshot of "top" while it was in this state (attached). Root is on SD, I set up a 1GB swap partition over SATA. My questions are: * Is setting up a 1GB swap partition over SATA a bad idea? * Why do all of the processes suddenly report 100% CPU when main memory runs out? * How can I prevent this in the future? * Is there any other diagnostics or tests that can help determine the root cause? Thanks, Terence Haddock
  22. Hello! I use cubieaboard2, setup "trusty_3.4.110_desktop", on first boot the cubieboard2 itself off. Power Off after the kernel load labels. Debian_jessie_4.4.1 work fine. Why may power off spontaneously?
