Driver for Toshiba TC358743 HDMI to CSI-2 bridge

imagox

Question

Hello,

I use a SolidRun MicroSOM i2eX in combination with the Toshiba TC358743 HDMI to CSI-2 bridge. (http://www.toshiba.com/taec/components/ProdBrief/10L02_TC358743_ProdBrief.pdf)

As far as I know, the driver for the Toshiba chip is now included resp. available in kernel 4.1.

(https://lwn.net/Articles/643374/ and http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-media/msg88921.html)

Can anyone confirm that?

The driver was available for kernel 3.0.35

I've created a new image based on the compile.sh script from Igor PeÄovnik (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib).

Thanks a lot for this amazing work !

Now I have a running Debian resp. Ubuntu system with kernel 4.1

Unfortunately, the Toshiba driver is not included here.

What should I do to create the driver itself?
Is it possible to adapt the script to create the image accordingly? If so, how?

Kind regards

Guido

If the driver is there you only need to bring up menu kernel configuration and search for it. Run the script with:

KERNEL_CONFIGURE="yes"

and KERNEL_ONLY="yes" to build kernel only. You don't need to rebuild the image.

Than re-compile.

Thanks  :P

Hello Imagox,

Did you succeed in creating a build with Toshiba driver?
I want to do the same as you, so as I can capture HDMI video with a HummingBoard.

Please, let me know if you had any progress.
