Slxer Posted October 8, 2019 Author Posted October 8, 2019 I powering it from USB2.0 port which should be able to provide 500mA. The device takes the most power when it's booting around 0.6A and after that lot less. Any way then to reduce the power consumption by disabling part of the circuit from software like the wifi?
guidol Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 when you got a bad cable (cable inside to thin) the 500mAh would come into your OPi R1 I have a OPi R1 with the OPi NAS board and it also works on a normal USB 2.0 Port - but of my 10-Port ANKER Charger At this time there are 6 devices connected and non of them got a power-problem....but Iam also using only USB-Fast-Charger cables where thy devices can get the power Also a "bad" MicroSD Card (less than Class 10) could make such problems - Iam using "real" SanDisk Ultra MicroSD Cards. Never got a power-problem....onyl after some years the older SanDisk Card did wear out and went very slow - but do work if you got time
