With a previous release cycle we have added support for Raspberry Pi4. Currently we are producing daily images only (rolling release):

https://www.armbian.com/rpi4b/

When someone steps as a maintainer, it can become officially supported:

https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Board-Support-Rules/

We only support Ubuntu based builds for now and kernel source is attached to official RaspberryPi sources. Which is better then mainline.

Has anyone tried the desktop release ?

Armbian 22.02 Jammy XFCE
Kernel 5.15.y, Size: 1341Mb, Updated: Feb 28, 2022

There does not seem to be a means to change the desktop display resolution (mine would have to be 1440x900 for optimal display).

Yes, it was tested, briefly, but since we don't have a dedicated maintainer or support sponsor, there is nothing we can do. Images will still get better and better since general support will be there and kernel support from Raspberry Pi foundation is also updated almost daily. But for those things in between additional man power is needed, which we can't find or hire (we already generate loss).
