SteeMan Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 Have you tried following the instructions in the FAQ for installation? https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus and have you read this FAQ entry: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first
Max Sterg Posted July 21, 2022 Author Posted July 21, 2022 I tried but, i don't know what to download and what version is for me!!! for the entry: i believe i can make it !!! ( fingers crossed) (AT LEAST I CAN TRY!!!🦾)
SteeMan Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 I don't know what you are looking for. First off are you more comfortable with debian or ubuntu? Then are you looking for a desktop (gui) or are you command line focused? Based on your needs the appropriate build should be obvious.
Max Sterg Posted August 12, 2022 Author Posted August 12, 2022 Hi @SteeMan, I don't mind , i only care if its Linux or not 😅, desktop vertsion because i will have some services running !!! Sorry for late response! 😥
SteeMan Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 In the link provided above to the instructions, there are two desktop builds (the ones names *desktop*). bullseye is debian, focal is ubuntu.
Max Sterg Posted August 13, 2022 Author Posted August 13, 2022 (edited) @SteeMan xz or sha image? i will take bullseye in desktop image Edited August 13, 2022 by Max Sterg
Werner Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 sha contains the checksum for the image which you can validate locally. 1
SteeMan Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 The .xz file is the image. The .sha file is the checksum. I think you should google and learn about the purpose and use of checksums, to understand what the .sha file is for. 1
Max Sterg Posted August 22, 2022 Author Posted August 22, 2022 @SteeMan , i have a trouble about extlinux.conf file, i don't know what dtb is my tv box , but with a little research i figured that my tv box has a RK3228A, 28nm Quad core Cortex A7, which means it doesn't include the exactly dtb file for my tv box to boot.... so, any ideas? Thanks for the help guys ❤
SteeMan Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 @Max Sterg If your box has a rockchip 3228 then you are in the wrong forum. This forum is for boxes with amlogic cpus. You should look at the following forum: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12656-csc-armbian-for-rk322x-tv-boxes The first post has the instructions on how to install on a rk3228 tv box.
