ARMBIAN for Amlogic S905 and S905X (ver 5.44 =<)

hi I am new in this forum, and I need someone more experienced than me to solve the problem of the my tv box (leelbox s1) (almlogic s905/xS905x) practically I cannot start his wlan0 because it cannot be seen by any of the image files in this link https://mega.nz/#F!j9QSDQSQ!6WpasOlbZYIInfw6yo4phQ!35ACSCjQ than to try other images from this forum ... but there is no way ... the driver of my wlan0 card is RTL871X ... someone tells me how can I solve ??? thank you.

I do know know which image you are using as the link mentioned by you doesn't open for me. There is an another thread where you can ask for help.
 

You can ask others which image has the WiFi driver for that chip. In addition to that, the main author , balbes is kind of more active there as compared to current thread ( It is kind of outdated one). So, he might help you.
Other than that, you can check dmesg or logs to see if there are some issues with loading of WiFi driver.

I'm loaded armbian on mi box, but where is no emmc flash device in hw, how can I  make a copy img of emmc.

Hi can anyone explain how this can load on a secure box (mi box S) but i cannot load android based images such as libreElec or lakka?  I'm guessing it's has something to do with the dtb signing but just wondering if someone can explain or if it's documented anywhere.  Thanks.

Hi, everybody, I have the TVbox Beelink GT1 Ultimate (with CPU Amlogic S-912 and with 32G di memory), I would like use it with Home assistant, Can I flash on the Tvbox the Armbian and if yes, wich version I must use and how I must procede for flash the  SO?

I read that the Armbian 5.37 based on 3.14.29 debian version is fine for my TVBOX but I can't find it, could someone upload it on megadrive?

I haven't tested recently since I currently use this box as my home server (with armbian on sdcard+homeassistant+others). I use an image based on a recent kernel (4.19 or 4.20) and latest images from balbes should also work well. You'd better test the images from this topic:

You just have to find the relevant dtb file for the box. The khadas vim2 is often a good choice or the q201.

The only advantage of kernel 3.14 image is mali support, but with latest images panfrost can also work (not tested) and your use case seems to be a headless server.

Hello all I am new to this. I have numerous tv boxes around my house and I want to turn a couple into something useable besides a tv box.

 

First I have the MXQ pro 4k boxes.

 

I have downloaded armbian 20.02.02 I am using bionic current 5.5.0 rc6

 

I am using DTB file meson-gxbb-neobox-a95x.dtb. This file seems to be the only file that works with my box without loading errors. I am able to get the boxes to boot from the SD card but I am unable to install to the nand or emmc.

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue? is there a different file I should be using?

 

Any help is much appreciated.

I don't which SoC is MXQ pro 4k, but nand is not supported (no driver in kernel) and s905 does not support install to emmc, due to old uboot not supporting emmc structure when installing armbian.

I have the S905 on the MXQ pro it comes with 1g ram and 8g storage.

 

As far as not installing on s905 I was reading on this ondroid site where another guy has instructions for installing to emmc for the s905. I am not sure if my particular box does not have that feature or what.

 

I guess the main reason I want to install is I have to run a sd card adapter on my box and I don't want this big card sticking out of the side of the box all the time. 

 

They also say to refer to this forum for help so this is why I am here.

Do we need to sign the aml_autoscript.zip file?

 

Whenever I try to install it in Android recovery it says signature verification failed and doesn't install anything. I tried multiple sd cards, multiple usb sticks and also tried with the update&backup app and booting directly into recovery with a tooth pick in the av port.

 

I self signed it and it didn't complain anymore but its also not booting from sd/usb. Too bad this board has no taxes to the uart pins. Such a waste to leave it on the very slow Android or throw it away. It could make a nice Linux box for sure.

 

I don't know how but holding down the av-button before turning the box on and with Armbian on sd card it started booting up Armbian! Now I can get rid of Android and see what this little badboy can do.
