morinzm Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 I was wondering if the Armbian 11 Bullseye release would get a release candidate for the following ppa's for Panfrost: ppa:liujianfeng1994/panfork-mesa ppa:liujianfeng1994/rockchip-multimedia Because I was really hoping to use Debian over Ubuntu for my purposes of familiarizing myself with the distro, but only Jammy so far has a candidate for these. I also tried manually installing the Panfrost/Panfork drivers on Bullseye and only got it working once before borking my entire system, and I cannot replicate it. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated, as the GPU acceleration on Jammy is simply amazing! 0 Quote
Werner Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 There are no plans from Armbians' side to ship panfork or provide it in some way. Check you the reason for that here: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4476 0 Quote
morinzm Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) Then why is there a PPA for it on the Rock 5's page? Is it provided by the maintainer and if so how would I get in contact with them to ask about it? Also could I get a tl:dr for that thread? I barely was able to make sense of it on the way down through it @Werner Edited March 16, 2023 by morinzm 0 Quote
Werner Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 The ppa is there so user can decide on their own if they want to use these packages or not. In shipped images however it will not be included by default. 0 Quote
