Toast Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hi trying to install Debian on my allwinner a20 board and been running into issues used this link http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/Cubieboard2_Debian_3.8_jessie_3.4.107.zip the imagewriter doesnt really work for windows 8 keep on crashing and doesnt find the sd card so i used win32imager to write the raw file to the card checked so wrote the filesystem to the card the popped it into my Cubieboard and it detects that there is a sd card and then it messes up took a pic with my camera seems that it tries to tftp boot https://www.dropbox.com/s/nhzir29jyw4bjhf/IMG_20150526_162455.jpg?dl=0
Igor Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Most important part is missing - try to catch what's before that. If card content cannot be read u-boot seeks for network boot ... There is probably something wrong with the card or the writing process. But since I don't have CB2 I am not 100% sure. Cubietruck images are working and Cubieboard2 is almost the same. But strange errors are always possible
chessplayer Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hi, a different SD card did the trick for me. I also had a problem booting your latest images. I tried both the recommended one (Cubietruck_Debian_3.8_wheezy_3.4.107) as well as the Jessie one (Cubietruck_Debian_3.8_jessie_4.0.4), but there does not seem to be anything happening at all. So I downloaded an older version from the archives (Cubietruck_Debian_3.6_wheezy_3.4.107) and tried with that one - did not work either. Then, with a different SD card, everything was fine. Cherrs, chessplayer
Toast Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Seems like its missing some initial boot files ill do a more detailed post tomorrow
