grisu48 Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Hey there, I'm running Armbian 23.8.1 Bookworm with Linux 5.10.160-legacy-rk35xx on a Rock 5B and am trying to get zfs via dkms to work, but it won't compile. ... configure: error: *** None of the expected "file_fallocate" interfaces were detected. *** This may be because your kernel version is newer than what is *** supported, or you are using a patched custom kernel with *** incompatible modifications. *** *** ZFS Version: zfs-2.1.11-1 *** Compatible Kernels: 3.10 - 6.2 Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 5.10.160-legacy-rk35xx (aarch64) I'm attaching the full build log, perhaps someone has a clue? dkms-zfs.txt make.log 0 Quote

grisu48 Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 https://github.com/openzfs/zfs/issues/15081#issuecomment-1647094056 doesn't sound promising though: See here radxa/kernel#54 (comment) Rockchip BSP kernel is forked from Android Common Kernel, don't think ZFS would support the Android kernel any time soon. https://github.com/radxa/kernel/issues/54#issuecomment-1501031920 points out a possibility by patching the zfs sources. I am not sure if I want to go down that path. 0 Quote
